POFQ or Pop Preferred?

Traveling alone with a 1 year old. Which would you choose?
I do not plan on taking the buses (unless I change my mind.) We have always driven. I would consider the Skyliner if at POP, but we are not planning on doing HS. (MK 2 days, epcot, and AK)

POFQ standard $1,743.76
POP preferred $1,359.01

Editing to add that I considered Caribbean Beach, but the size makes me nervous. We like to be close to food. Ha!

Which would you choose? I have stayed at both, but they have both been 5 plus years ago pre COVID.
You are concerned about CBR but wanted to mention that our last trip for Thanksgiving 2021 we stayed there in a preferred room in Martinique which was right by the food court. We took the internal bus from the bus stop right there to the Skyliner and got the parks buses there. The system was great. Each area has a bus stop as well. Of your choices have only stayed at POFQ a number of years ago and really liked it.

We stayed at Pop before the Skyliner and ended up in standard rooms that were very close to the main building. The last time at Pop we were in Rm. 8416...not a great view but a quick cut through the parking lot to the main building.

POFQ, hands-down. Due to its smaller size, even the rooms that are farthest from the main building (check-in area, quick service, etc.) and bus stop are a short walk. This was the first Disney resort at which we stayed with our children 22+ years ago; we fell in love with POFQ then (LOVE the theming and the smaller resort size) and continue to stay there periodically (when not using our DVC points).

Pop is definitely our favorite Value resort; we've also stayed there several times over the years ... but compared to POFQ, I'd opt for POFQ every time UNLESS having direct access to the Skyliner is priority.

We've stayed at CBR twice - well, once ... first time was o.k., but our standard room was a VERY long walk from the Skyliner station and an even LONGER walk to the main building. On our second visit, we paid for a preferred room, close to the Skyliner station, but had a HORRIBLE experience upon returning to our room (from Epcot) on our arrival night ... NO water! The manager on duty was very helpful though and wound up moving us to another DVC/Deluxe resort. Regardless, we'll never stay at CBR again.

I would stay at Pop, and not plan on driving. So much easier to hop on the bus to MK and have them drop you off up front, then having to park and shuttle in. Plus the skyliner to Epcot is great! Avoids the mess that is the front of Epcot.

We just got back from POFQ. I thought the resort was really nice and liked how everything was so close. We were in building 3 so close to the bus stop and main lobby area. I’ve never stayed at Pop but I would stay at POFQ again

The bus service and easy "walkability" makes POFQ more appealing, but overall I personally feel (meaning my personal perception) most values and moderates are comparable. The real difference for me is a deluxe where you enter your room from within the building. The only exception for the mods really is Coronado.

I would almost always say FQ over Pop except for the stroller and skyliner ease if you were not going during rainy months and were going to use either that or bus. It sounds like you're not planning on using Disney transportation so I'd stick with FQ.

Having said that, we'd choose Pop over CBR - it's just way too big for us.

Internal busing would be a huge pita wirh a 1 year old and stroller though.

If money isn't a issue I would pick POFQ, we loved that place when we stood there years ago. With POP you can use the Skyliner which might be cool , we haven't done that yet

I've been in buildings 1, 5, 6, 7 & 8 (at Pop). The room where we had a far walk was building 7 and that's because we were in the jutted out section close to the parking lot. Once we found the path that took us through the parking lot to the bus depot we had no issues (that was pre-Skyliner).

Hi! I never stayed at Pop, but did at FQ in 2013 when my girls were 4 and 6.

We used a double stroller, I was 7.5 months pregnant, and it was July. We loved it!

Most mornings, we had cereal in the room with Mickey Mouse Clubhouse on the TV, then went to the parks and visited the food court on the way back to our room. I know you pan to drive, but, just so you know, we found the busses easy to use, although sometimes there weren’t places for us all to sit, but we would stand. I did stand for several rides. People usually volunteered their seats since I was pregnant, but I usually declined and was fine.

We stayed for 7-10 days and used 5-7 park days. It was GREAT! My little girls loved the waking paths, the room, and the pool with the water slide.

Of course, I’ve never tried Pop or the Skyliner and a lot has changed at Disney since then.

I have 2 rooms at POFQ booked right now for a trip next month, but it’s short. I’m deciding whether to change to a deluxe or not for the Extended Hours, but I actually think I’d prefer POFQ over most other options.

Good luck, and I hope you and your family have a wonderful time!

POFQ for me, smaller resort so all rooms are close to the food court smaller queues for buses , also, the pool has a great splash zone for toddlers and you can also walk to Riverside or take the river taxis.

It's not enough of a savings to go down to Pop for me. Don't get me wrong, I like pop...but I loved POFQ with a 20 month old.

tough question. Pop has the sklyiner (right) PO has the boat to disney springs. Rooms are bigger at PO, rooms are cheaper at Pop - if on tight budget - pop - if want the bigger room then po
