POFQ - how far to Epcot?

I look at the map of WDW and see that POFQ is across from Epcot. Is it within walking distance? If we wanted to walk over to the monorail and take it to the Polynesian, is this feasible, or too far? Also, where do the resort buses typically let you off at the MK: at the Poly or right in front? Thanks!

POFQ is very close to Epcot, however, I don't think you can walk there. There aren't any walkways that I can remember, and those streets get very busy. I would just take a bus, it's on a couple minute drive over. As far as a bus drop off for MK, it drops you off right in front, not over by POLY.

no you definately cannot walk to any of the parks/DTD from POFQ..you can only walk from POFQ to POR..:)

As the crow flies the resort is very close to Epcot. But the realities of the road system makes walking not only impractical, but dangerous. You would have to walk down Bonnet Creek Parkway, along East Buena Vista Drive, up Epcot Drive, and through the parking lot in order to get to the monorail. These are all very busy multilane roads without sidewalks. Much faster and safer to just take the bus.

Take a look at Bing maps to get a better idea.

As the PP noted, resort buses drop off very near the gates of MK, not anywhere near the Poly (which in any case is not that close to the MK). If you want to go to the Poly from your resort you would go to the MK by bus, then transfer to a resort launch or the monorail.

There are lots of tourists unfamiliar with the area who drive all over WDW. It's one of the craziest places to drive and I would never walk.

If you wanted best way from POFQ to the Poly, I'd go with one of the following:
- bus to MK with monorail to the Poly
- bus to MK with boat to the Poly
- boat to DTD with bus to the Poly
If you'd really like to take a longer monorail ride and have extra time:
- bus to Epcot, monorail to TTT, transfer to resort monorail and take to Poly
- bus to Epcot, monorail to TTT, walk to Poly. It's a short walk to the Poly, but a longer walk to the Great Ceremonial House. Nice if you want to see the grounds but the walkways wind a little so you may take a wrong turn or two if you're not careful.

The transport systems are the best thing to use in Disney. It is almost unheard of walking to any of the parks from any of the hotels. :)

Actually your first sentence is :goodvibes:goodvibes. But your second is wrong. A lot of CR guests book that resort precisely because they can walk quickly to the MK. And a prime reason for booking BC,YC, and Boardwalk is because guests can walk to both DHS and Epcot.

But it is true that NONE of the parks can be reached on foot from any of the values or mods.

Hi! POFQ is near Epcot but not across the street. You have to drive or take a bus from the resort to Epcot.

From Epcot you can take a Monorail to the TTC, Ticket and Transportation Center and then take a Disney Monorail to the Polynesian Resort. It is a totally doable and a very fun excursion actually :)

The resort buses drop you off near the Magic Kingdom to the right of the main gates. It's a few minutes' walk to the gates from the bus stop.

You can also take a bus to the Poly from the Magic Kingdom and then from the poly you can go to the TTC and then back to Epcot.

Hope this helped and have fun!

I would just like to add .... "But it is true that NONE of the parks can be reached on foot from any of the values or mods" not via sidewalks or SAFELY ... but it could be done. I wouldn't do it myself and wouldn't recommend it either.
