POFQ First-Timer!!

Love POFQ! We have stayed there 4 times, always building 2, upper floor with standard view. We found the standard view from that building was quite attractive so I'm sure any river view room will be awesome.
We are changing it up at Christmas and staying at the AKL but only because with free dining the prices were only $300-$400 more than POFQ or we would stay there again in a heartbeat! Have a great trip!

According to Portorelans.org, there is only one standard view room in POFQ Building 2 (2341), so you've been lucky to get an upgrade when you've stayed there! The standards are the parking lot views in Buildings 1, 3, 4, & 7.

Yep, most of the rooms in building 2 are garden view.

Ask for a corner room-you will get two windows and the room will feel much bigger. Stop in at the front desk and get some beads. Have a great trip-you are staying at a gorgeous resort.

We are going in April and I am definitely going to do this. we have a garden view room so I hope this is possible.

I must be losing my marbles! It was building 1 that we have stayed in, thanks for setting me straight! We did have a parking lot view but in our particular location we saw the greenery out our window, not the parking. A friend of ours was in building 4 facing the parking and had a much different view than us and they could also hear some sort of utility vehicle backing up early in the morning.

I read somewhere not to get a ground floor room because of snakes. Is that just paranoia? Cause I'd be scarred for life and need to sleep at night. :scared1:

We had a ground floor room at Coronado Springs and returned home after the parks to find a lizard in our room. CSR is very a very lizardy place, and one must have crept in while housekeeping was there. I think next time I'll request an upper floor to prevent (as much as possible) any more unwanted guests. :)

SHUDDER! :scared:

We just got back from a great trip to POFQ!! It was an anniversary trip for us, so no kids. The resort was beautiful and quiet! We used the pool every night after the parks, which was very relaxing. We were in building 7, but it never seemed too far away. It was a short walk to POR to watch Bob and have some drinks. What a lovely resort!!
We just got back from our 1st stay in #7. Location was great not far from the pool and foodcourts at POFQ and a quick walk up to POR

We've stayed in 1, 5 and 4.

1 was really good. We had a corner room that overlooked both the river and the parking lot. It wasn't loud or anything. Our only complaint came when the fire alarm randomly went off.

Building 5, we were right next to the water. It was awesome waking up for morning EMH and seeing the sun rise over the trees and near the water. A really beautiful view. It was also gorgeous at dusk.

Building 4 was okay. We had a garden view. It was a little further from the food court, but it was close to the bus stop. We took the "back way" by walking along the sidewalk.

Any thoughts on the pool views? I'd really like an upper floor room in Building 5 or 2 so we are closer to the pool, and I think this is the only way I could guarantee one. I'm a bit worried about noise. I'm currently booked in a garden view and I know I can put in requests for those things, but then you never know....

We stayed in a Pool View room in Bldg 5 - 2nd Floor in January 2014. It was our Favorite!!! You have to book that type of room (it's more expensive), but to us it was worth it. We had a 20 month old sleeping in a Pack-N-Play and had no problem with noise. Those doors are pretty well insulated. Can't wait to go back :)
