I know that all rooms come with coffee and coffee makers, but from what I hear it is disgusting! I was just going to bring my own ground coffee...are the coffee makers drip? Or are they those one-cup at a time kind? Do I need to bring filters??

I am also going to bring 3 or 4 styrafoam insulated coffee cups with lids for my hubby to take with us in the morning, rather than buying a coffee once inside the park. Will they let us walk in with a cup of coffee, because at DL we bring in Starbucks all the time...

thanks :coffee:

They are drip coffee makers that make what they claim is 4 cups (really more like 2) and it certainly isn't the best coffee you will find. Way too weak for us but we drink it to get a jumpstart.

Yes, you can take it in your Styrofoam cups to the bus stop but you are not allowed to eat or drink on the buses...water bottles etc have to be closed so not sure you could carry an open Styrofoam cup of coffee on there, but they might be OK with your lids...

They are the four cup coffee makers. I bring my own coffee since I think theirs is awful and I drink more than they give out for packets. I generally get the four cup packets rather than dealing with ground coffee and filters. Many of the Starbucks locations sell the 4 cup packets now! If I can't get those I'd rather get the Maxwell ones sold in grocery stores over the ones at the hotel.

I usually also bring my own creamer. If I'm staying at Disney - I usually just get liquid Half N Half as I live close enough to drive and drop by a store on the way. If not - then I bring CoffeeMate as I also don't like the awful powdered dairy creamer they put in those packets either! I don't know why but that stuff always reminds me of disintergrated drywall!

When you say 4 cup packets, does that mean I do not need to bring my own filters?? Obviously, I don't drink coffee or I would know this, but this is all for my DH. Thank you for the great advice...I really appreciate it!

I purchased a pack of insulated Dixie styrofoam cups w/lids ($4 for 12 or so?) at Walmart, and they worked great. We didn't have any problems with carrying our coffee on the bus, but we did have lids. The benefit for us was not having to haul around coffee mugs all day- but we did carry a Nalgene bottle.

I agree with ThePhantomsGirl about the creamer! I hate that powdered stuff they give you in the room! We used a snack credit on the first day to get a bottle of milk last year for the fridge.

Yuk, no kidding! That creamer is the pitts...it not only looks like crumbled drywall, it dissolved like it too! :goodvibes

Not a problem! They are "filter packs" meaning that no filter is needed. The coffee is pre-measured and then placed in a closed packet of filter paper. Make sure when you buy them that they are "filter packs" rather than the smaller sizes of one pot sizes. Most grocery stores will sell THOSE right under their beans and those do NOT have filters!

Maxwell House sells a square-ish container of 12 filter packs. You can buy the individual filter packs at Starbucks.
