If you were going to request a specific building at POFQ, which would you choose and why?

We are non-smokers and are thinking about requesting building 1. Has anyone stayed in this building and have any comments about it?

Where are the bus stops at POFQ?

I stayed in bldng.#1 in a standard view room - it was actually courtyard view and was one of the furthest bldngs from the main bldng but nice and close to the parking lot (we had our own car). Even though it was one of the furthest bldngs though, it was still a very short walk to the main bldng. I don't think you can go wrong with any of them as far as the distance thing goes;) I've also stayed in a standard view room in bldng.#2 which was also courtyard view and much closer to the pool. That was nice. The closest bldngs to the pool/main bldng seem to be 2,3, & 5.

But #1 wasn't bad since you asked.

HTH's:wave:

We've stayed in bldg 4, 5 and 6. Our favorite is building 5. It is in the middle of the resort and close to the pool, boat dock, bus stop and main bldg. Keep in mind, though, this resort is considerably smaller than any other resorts so all bldgs are relatively close when compared with larger resort areas. For example, POR has over 2000 rooms while POFQ only has 1000 rooms.

There is only one bus stop and it is located fairly close to the main blbdg lobby area in the front of the resort. All bldgs are reasonably located close to it.

The water view is either of the river or the pool. Since you don't have a balcony I'm not sure that it is worth much to pay extra but some people prefer it.

We have been to POFQ many times. Can't wait to go back in March! We like to be close to everything. Our favorite is building 5. It's close to the pool and boat launch with a short walk to the food and buses. Building 2 is nice, but I believe it is a smoking building. We stayed in building 1 once, but felt like we were far away from the action even though it is really not that far away. The resort grounds are small. If you like peace and quiet, Building 1 is it. It is the farthest walk to the bus stops as they are in the front of the resort, though.

We stayed in bldg #5 last time, and requested it for next time too. It's location is great! And we were facing the courtyard which was just beautiful. Oh I just love POFQ..can't wait to get back there!!!!!:hyper: :hyper: :hyper:

We stayed in building 3 and we really like the location, we were on the side of the building that faced away from the main courtyard. We were close to the main building, and close to the ice machine.
Parts of building 2 are smoking, my mother and sister stayed in that building on the 3rd floor and it was a smoking section

Just a quick FYI, both rooms we had at FQ were NON-Smoking;)

Bldng.#1 was N/S 1st floor and bldng.#2 we had N/S 3rd floor. I did hear though that #2 was a 1/2 smoking and 1/2 non-smoking -- maybe left half/right half ??

Anyway ~ just thought I'd let ya know:)

We stayed in building 1 for our honeymoon. We ended up with a corner room, king bed, with a river view. I thought it was great. It was soooo quiet. I do believe we had the room that was about the furthest possible from the bus stop but it didn't bother us. It really wasn't too far. We had a car for a few days and loved having it so close to our room.

POFQ has 3 story bldgs, right? We will be traveling with a stroller, so we want to be somewhat close to the elevators. Where are the elevators located. If, we were on the 1st floor, are the walkways right next to the windows and doors? Just curious about the noise.

I also stayed in building 5 this past August, overlooking the courtyard. Every night on my way back from the parks, I found bunnies on the grounds! Usually two or three just hanging out!

We always request a ground floor room as we have a stroller, too. The noise, for us, isn't that bad. But we didn't spend lots of time in our room. In the afternoon for naps we seldom noticed any noise as most were in the pool or at the parks.

The walkways are outside and there are no interior cooridors at POFQ. Typically people walk on the cobblestone "street" that is just a bit passed the walkway area by the rooms or take the main sidewalk areas.

The elevators are located in the middle of each bldg and the building aren't that big ... in a L shape with the elevator being just a little north of where the L connects the two lines. Hope that makes sense - not sure how else to explain. When we were on the upper floors and closer to the stairs we often carried the stroller down and our DS(6) ... have stayed there since he was 13 months would walk down or one of us would carry.

If you want you can request that you be on the ground floor ... and if you don't get it as it can't be guaranted ... when you arrive you can have them show you where your room is and if it isn't close enough to the elevator just ask to be moved. If they can, they typically try to accomodate you ... depends on how full they are, though.

We stayed in building 3 on our last trip and it was great! Only about 3 mins max to the food court, bus stop and pool! This is a great resort!
