For some reason, POFQ seems to be our resort of choice. We haven't stayed there yet, but it's the one we seem to keep going back to when we talk about planning a trip.

My question is...what amenities can we use at POR if we stay at POFQ? And what ones are a no-no?

they are 'sister' resorts...you can use everything at both resorts
even your refilliable mug!

Oh that's perfect....then hubby can get one mug and I can get the other. Bonus!!

you mean from each resort?

I think they are the same mug...(same pattern)...not entirely sure. But when we stayed at POFQ last September...i believe the mug had both french Quarter/Riverside on it. not 100% sure though.

Darn! I thought they'd be two different ones. I was on allearsnet this morning and thought they had two different designs listed. Oh well. Not a big deal.

Ok...I called WDW Travel this morning and asked about sharing things between POFQ and POR. He said that POFQ guests can not use POR's pools and vice versa.

I bet if you call back you'll get a different answer. We have stayed a POR many times and always been told by the resort they are sister resorts so guests can use the pools at either.

I was also under the impression that they were sister resorts & all amenities were sharable.

how VERY odd.

It's just like All-Stars...they are "sister" resorts...guests of one can use at the other.

Even if that's what this cm has "said"...I've never seen anyone checking ID's at any resort pool (other then SAB)

I was just there and both had the same mug and we have always shared pools and food courts ( get the biegnets at FQ) . No one has ever said differently. Go forth and swim!!

That is simply NOT true. At least 2 PO/Downtown Disney boat captains stated that POR/POFQ share all facilities, including pools. I'm sure it also says this in the resort newsletter that you are given at check-in. The newsletter includes both resorts as they are sister resorts.

I can virtually guarantee that the information you were given is wrong.

Also, the refillable cups are the same at both. The wording on the side just says Port Orleans so it covers both resorts :) .

Thanks for all the responses. I guess we'll go with what they say once we're there and not worry about what I was told. Sounds like our wedding in Jamaica. Call the reservation line and we're told one thing...get there and we learn that they were much more laid back and flexible.

dude...Island Time is very very different! heheheh

Enjoy your stay at the PO resorts! :)

Just back from POR. The pool signs say for "Port Orleans" guests only - not just Riverside guests. We also noticed people using the boats to go back and forth to the pools.

I get so tired of CM's who don't know their job and then end up misinforming the public! The Port Orleans resorts are sister resorts. As others have said you can use both resorts' pools and anything else. We walked over and ate breakfast at POFQ from POR last year and used our mugs there too....I ASSURE you its perfectly fine to do this. The walkway between the two resorts is a beautiful one along the Sassagoula River...I loved it.

Thank you!! We didn't choose POFQ because we could use both, but when we heard that we could use both, it made it that much more exciting for us...especially if the POFQ is crawling with kids. We love kids, but if we want some quiet time and have the option of getting away and letting them have the pool while we use another one, then all the better.
