POFQ - 8 night stay - No Mousekeeping?

POFQ - if we opt out of housekeeping (what DH likes to do)
How do we get fresh towels ?
Not sure if they will dry in the room

Can we place our garbage in a trash receptacle some where on the grounds of POFQ?
We bring our own kitchen garbage bags.

Also do you get rewarded from WDW if you opt out of housekeeping ?
When do get your gift cards - day of arrival or day of departure ?

We are very neat and respectful people

Hi! We opted out of Mousekeeping last month at POFQ. We were there 7 nights and received our $60 gift card by email very shortly after checking in.
We called once to have our garbage taken out, toilet paper refilled and towels taken/given new. And one time my husband grabbed a couple of towels off the cart that was outside another rooms. We reused towels but I definitely think we should have called at least once more for clean towels. We had a big pile of garbage and wet towels in the corner. I'm not usually one to reuse towels but felt it was worth it for the gift card. I'm sure they would have brought more if we had called again.

We empty our garbage each morning in the nearest trash container.
You can call housekeeping or stop by a maid cart for towels, toilet paper, etc...

We skip housekeeping every year. You can get towels, toilet paper anything you need by calling housekeeping on the phone. When requesting towels, request a number based on what you think you will use. We even requested clean sheets. We also did what your husband did and took directly off the cart. Please remember that for any service you request a tip is appreciated.

They will supply clean sheets, however, you will make the bed. As for trash, and set towels, etc. We just placed them outside our room (by the window) early when a cart or maid was nearby, usually morning and she will pick it up as she walks pass.

We never leave trash unless it's in a tied trash bag. Pizza boxes and large items we take to either a large trash container by bus stop, or to food court trash.

Why an e-mail for the gift card ?
How can you use it at WDW ?

It's an e gift card. You will use it right of your phone. My daughter has one of those expensive phones and doesn't use gift card in restaurants or anywhere her phone is our of her sight. We use the gift card at quick service and merchandise shopping (never a table service), although it can be used to pay bills,tips, etc.

Or if you have any other Disney gift cards, you can upload them all on disneygiftcard.com and transfer the balance of the e gift card to an actual physical card.

I was at CBR last week and the email would not go thru to my acct so they gave me a physical gift card so that may be possible if you ask I would imagine.

This is nothing against the original poster, I'm sure you're nice clean people. But I can't help but worry when I go to Disney in Feb. that the room I check into will have previously been filled with a week's worth of garbage and wet towels so people can get the gift cards. I just think over time the lack of cleaning every day will leave odors and more residue in the rooms, unfortunately. I realize this may be an unpopular opinion....

I understand your concern, but I do think most people who take advantage of this get rid of their garbage and wet towels on their own. They’ve been offering the gift card for over two years now. So far I haven’t noticed any odors or musty smells in any of the rooms we’ve checked into. And don’t forget, many people have declined housekeeping for years before this offer started just by leaving the do not disturb sign on their door.

yup. This is us all the time, everywhere we go! Only 2 of us and we're not overly messy. I think it's a bonus that they're gonna pay me to do what I do anyway
before we check out of any hotel I put all the used towels in a neat pile in the bathroom, strip the bed and gather all the garbage into one tied up bag. I appreciate what the staff does to make my holidays enjoyable and figure I should clean up as much as possible to make that job easier.
