I have a 9y/o girl (Sarah) and 6 y/o boy (Trevor) that will be joining us on the cruise.
I know that Disney has a great kids program, but I think it may be a good idea for them to meet/be introduced to some podcast friends before going to the clubs for the first time.

I'm thinking of something on the ship or at port prior to check in.

Thoughts? Ideas?

We will be 'pool ready' when we board the ship, so maybe a pool-side meet/introduction is in order? (we will either have our suits on under our clothing or with us in small bags)

Chime in with your ideas. Kids ages/names.

I have joined the excel-list collective.. I have one going for all the kids for the meet.
I'll keep the suggestions open for a bit longer to see what the majority wants.

Great idea.

My son is 4 and he is much more comfortable meeting other kids when we are around.

Are you riding the bus Michelle? Is anyone with a 3 or 4 year old riding the bus from the Dolphin?

I'll be on the ship early and enjoying the pool first thing...or after lunch....would love to hook up early so they have buddies in the clubs.

We are not riding the bus.
Our plans have us in on Friday morning but we are visiting Kennedy Space Center/Cocoa beach Friday/Saturday. We won't be participating in any of the Pre-cruise meets :sad1:. But these plans have been made for our family for quite some time (and DH's only request has been to visit KSC).
We will be driving to the port (dropping off a rental/taking shuttle) the morning of the cruise.

I have a 9 year old Daughter. Her name is Anna. She's super excited about cruising for the first time and with all of you!

I like the idea of the kids getting together to sort of break the ice, but it might be frantic when we get on the ship. Any chance of trying to do something while we are checking in at the terminal, or would that be just as hectic? Maybe we could do a quick meet and greet next to the large model ship.

I have a 7 year old girl and a 2 year old boy. My sister has a 4 year old boy.

We are riding the bus and doing the poly meet.

My sister will be meeting us at the port since they are driving.

We had basically the same plan, but changed our mind when they offered the free transfers.

The Mickey Pool is absolutely crazy. We will definitely be hitting there after lunch.

We have an 11 yr old girl and a 9 yr old boy. We're taking the bus to the port and I think we'll have some time to kill there so that might be a good place to meet before everyone goes crazy when the doors open.

As long as your there before I board ;)

I'm in, if we get something arranged. DD is 7 and is really looking forward to the cruise. We will be at the Poly Saturday night as well...

Here she is showing off her Pirate garb...

Michelle,
Our dd, Millie, is 9, also. She is looking forward to meeting Anna, and Madi and Emilie and all the other girls on this trip! princess:princess:princess:princess:she already met Becky's little girl Hallie, and they had fun together.

We will also be riding the bus to the port, but maybe a quick meet by the ship model inside the terminal might be doable. We'll just be sitting around getting antsy 'till we can board, anyway! Good idea, Aaron!

Count us in! We're driving to the Port.

Son Riley, age 9 (turning 10 on the ship!)
Daughter Cammie, age 8
Daughter Kelly, age 6

Sounds like we have a lot of kids in the same age ranges, so a pre-meet would be greta for them!

We will be on the bus with our 4 year old. :)

We had the same plan as well. We changed everything around when the free transfers/ability to park at the Dolphin came along.

Oh yay. I didn't know you changed too. We will have to try to get on the same bus. We will be coming from the Beach Club. Are you going to the Poly Meet too?

My kids are:

McKenzie -12
Logan -4
Piper -2

Logan may not be spending much time in the club... my almost 21 year old taught him some serious swear words and we can't get him to stop saying them. Poor kid has to suffer because of his older brothers actions.

That's too bad. Maybe he will stop before the cruise.

I will keep a list going of people interested and the suggestions. guess that's part of the 'you suggested it.. you run it' rule :rotfl:
