Podcast Cruise 6.0!!! Official Info

For those of you on PCC 6.0 our live show at 3PM in the Aqua Theater is cancelled due to weather. Unfortunately we were not able to secure another venue that would accommodate us all.

We are still having our slot tournament at noon in the casino and our cocktail reception at 4:30PM in the Solarium Bar.

Please pass the word to other cruisers.

We are so sorry for the inconvenience but it is unavoidable.

Awwww - so sorry you had to cancel, but it's better everybody is safe and dry . Hope you all are continuing to enjoy yourselves. Enjoy the rest of today, safe and expedient travels home!

Waiting to debark. We had an awesome time with many friends, old and new. We are very grateful for the opportunity to enjoy this trip. A big thanks to Pete and the whole DIS team and Tracey and the rest of the Dreams crew. We're so glad you decided to do this on Royal Caribbean instead of Disney. We hope it won't be the last RCCL DIS cruise. Until next time friends.

Val & I are back in our house. Very easy debarkation process, quickly found our bags and out to the car.

Suggestion for others; lets all include a post here about what you liked or disliked. That may help others who are considering the same cruise.

Great idea! We will be on Oasis in March, booked through Tracey. Been anxiously awaiting reviews from this trip, and hopefully a podcast about it as well!

A couple quick thoughts:
- Bring comfortable shoes, you'll do a lot of walking
- Check your account daily via the TV. Three days in a row had to go to guest services to get bogus charges removed.
- No laundry facilities, you need something washed you have to pay Royal to do it.
- TV service has limited channels. You can hook up an iPad or something via HDMI but you need a remote you can program for a Samsung so you can change inputs.
- Voom internet service very good. Able to stream video with their surf & stream service.
- Don't forget that the TV monitors in the elevator lobbies are interactive, get menu's for example.

Enjoy, it's not Disney but it's not bad.

If you traveled on bus from port to a Disney resort & lost the top to your Dreams Unlimited cup, I found one after bus dropped us off. Just let me know & I will be happy to send to you.

I only had the Voom Surf package without Stream and was still able to stream Youtube videos. If you aren't planning to watch full episodes, save the extra cash. Amy

I was going to get the regular package. I had looked prior to the cruise and it was $8.95/day. When I went back a few days later to actually buy it, they had a promotion to get the stream package for the same price so we did.

I agree that the internet service was excellent. No trouble at all. So while I'd encourage you to unplug for the week if you can, if you really must have access, it works like a charm. And honestly, at $8,95/day, it's cheaper that what hotels on land charge. It isn't unusual to pay $13-16/day at a full service hotel like a Marriott or Hilton.

We found it good just to communicate via text with others in our grouo.
Good point. One thing DW said was that there really needs to be some way to communicate with others in the group. There were numerous times when we had down time and would have liked to meet up with other DISers but had no way to contact anyone. Maybe distributing a directory of everyone in the group would work. At least that way we could call each other's cabins. Texting only works if everyone has an Internet package and you know their number.

Due to privacy reasons, distributing a list wouldn't be possible. One suggestion would be to use this thread or perhaps the Facebook group page to organize mini meets or to just say "we are in pub come join us".

Maybe you could give people the choice to opt in to being on the list. Using the boards or Facebook is limited to those people who have internet access (and check it regularly).

Now that I think about it, there is a post on page 1 of this thread that lists people's names and cabin numbers. It isn't everyone but it's quite a few. I didn't even think to look at that during the cruise.

Is there a way to do something non-technology wise? Like have someone's stateroom door be a place to list out on a white board or something where potential meet up spots is? Or maybe not someone's room but some central place to post something?

I agree posting on a thread would be very effective as people can sign up to be notified when a new post has been made - but requires people have internet access

There was a message board of sorts at Guest Services. I saw notes about Red Has and Friends of Bill W. Of course, you have to get there to check for notes, then get to the meeting place if it's still current.
Least favorite part of the cruise was navigating the ship, both the elevators and the decks where you couldn't go straight through on a given deck.

Looking forward to seeing the group photo of everybody.

...Oh wait, we forgot to do that. :badpc:

Maybe one of our photo experts can grab photos and make a collage of groups? A group photo would have been so nice, but since we don't have one ...

We looked at that board one day. Along with the notes about Friends of Bill W. someone had posted a note for a meeting of Enemies of Bill W. They were meeting at 3:30pm at the Champagne Bar.
