Is there a way to prevent a child from really running up a bill using the Arr-Cade? The description here on the DIS says

Since adults aren't around all the time, how do you keep a child (9YO) from simply buying more credits?

Yikes, I hadn't thought about that...I'm going to need to know too!

Can you opt not to have charging privileges on his card?
I know they do that at the World. Anyone can have their key card designated to not allow purchases.

Would he need to buy anything else with his card when you weren't there?

I thought the Arcade card was different and you had to use cash to charge it up.

Yeah, I'm guessing the kids won't have charging privileges, but that means Dad needs to buy the cards in the first place, and recharge them when needed, etc...

The way I read it, you recharge the Arcade Card using your KTTW card. I'll have to ask at checkin about not allowing charging privileges on his card. I don't remember if I had a choice when we did online registration.

When I did online registration, I had the option of giving Josh (10) charging privileges, but not Ian (8) or Kaitlyn (7). I said "no" for Josh..... :thumbsup2

Hi all- only one month to go!! And I see everyone is getting their cruise docs in the mail recently.

A note and reminder about the door decorating contest.

If you are participating the Fish Extender exchange- you are automatically entered in the door & FE contest.

If you are NOT on the FE list, and wish to decorate your door (and possibly win a prize! :cool1:) PLEASE make sure your cabin number is listed correctly on the room ## thread Click HERE
This is the master list we will use for voting purposes, since it includes everyone who wants to be included.

If you are not yet listed or your cabin number has changed- let Mike (k5jmh) know in that thread.

Ballots will be available in the Hospitality room when we board- this is where we'll get our credentials, etc. Each cabin may vote once.

Can you vote even if you are not in the contest??

I'm not sure on the arcade card, but I think we did not have charge priviliges on my daughters card last cruise.

To vote you have to be listed as being part of the contest, but you don't have to decorate your door if you don't want to.

Just make sure your cabin # is listed on the Room# thread.:thumbsup2

This made me smile!

Reminds me of how our 8 year old daugher would totally be the voice of reason, much to the dismay of our 13 year old boy!

According to a news story here on the DIS, President Obama will be speaking at the Contemporary on 6/22. Expect some disruptions in traffic patterns if you are headed that way.:drive:

And following Jeff's lead, I think this should be the rule for the cruise...

Ooh. That's interesting. We have breakfast reservations at Crystal Palace at 8:10am . . . we might have to try and get there a little earlier than we might have otherwise thought!

Now i read its a 3 day convention, we fly in on june 22, but probably wont be at the Contemporary until 5 pm or so, or at least we hope now! We are planning on dinner downtown after check in and then MK and Epcot on the 23rd before the cruise.

I guess we will get to see Air Force 1 at MCO.

Luckily, we have a car service picking us up.
