Some strange guy from Indy will be here today, so I have to show him a good time. Need to mow and clean up so I can impress him. Guess I'll have to shower or something too....seems like I just did that last week.

What is his ETA? I'll be expecting a phone call from you two. Yes, I'm jealous and plan on intruding on your weekend!! pirate:

My wife and I decided we wanted a date night last night. Since we couldn't find a baby sitter we figured the drive-in was the perfect solution. Our son would fall asleep in the back seat and we could watch Star Trek, which I had been dying to see.

This is a case of good plan poor execution. The movie started at 8:45. No sleep from the little one yet, but hey he should fall asleep any minute right? Movie starts it's Transformers not Star Trek. the paper got the order of the double feature wrong. Oh well....go with the flow, it's date night. Still not asleep "mommy I like this movie". Kid never did fall asleep. He spent the movie switching between our laps. Date night becomes family fun night.

Lessons from the drive-in: 1. Don't bring the kid and expect date night and 2. Call to make sure you are spending $20 to see a movie you actually want to see.

Needless to say fun was had by all.

Good evening all! Stressful day here. We sold our house. It took two weeks. That's a great thing. However, we didn't think it would sell that quick, and we have no place to go, except Don's basement :( I think we have decided to rent until we know for sure what we want to do when we grown up. We looked at a house today that made me want to throw up. We looked at a townhouse also, and it's not too bad. Nice, but small. Like if I fell out of bed I could eat Cheerios :)

Thanks! Here's our problem. We don't know that we want to stay in this community. Our realtor told us it should take awhile to sell our house. Well, it didn't. So, we thought we'd have a few months to decide, we don't. Here are our two choices:

1. Rent. We rent something for six months of so. Then we may either be in a situation where a new job has come open OR, we'll decide to stay put and then buy a house locally. If we rent, we don't have to worry about selling a house should we move.

2. Buy a house. With our luck, we'd buy a house and then have to move two months later. But, with buying a house, I could buy the house I want and be moving upwards instead of going backwards with a rental (smaller).

I just don't know what to do!

I have to agree with the other posters. Do the short term rental until you are sure about the job situation.

He should be getting on the road about now. Its about 3.5 to 4.0 hrs away, estimated ETA 13:00

Morning Everyone!!

Parents are gone for the weekend!! Woohoo!!!

However they left me with the 88lb whining dog, who will probalby whine all weekend because he got left behind. Ugh!!

Hello Everyone!

I have been a bit of a lurker on the boards since early 2008 when I began planning a dream trip to WDW for my Daughter's birthday. I have made the decision to surprise my family with the podcast cruise 2.0. :cheer2::cheer2:

Now comes the hard part- I don't want to be a lurker any more. However, I have always been a little shy about making new friends. So here goes... My best friends are all unique, creative, and sarcastic (hmmmm.... wonder why I love the Dis so much). I am looking for people who share my love for WDW and have a warped sense of humor (like mine). Other pertinent info about me: Married, 2 kids (DD 9 and DS 5), I work in a psych hospital determining if patients meet criteria for inpatient treatment (I did warn you that my sense of humor is warped, right?). I am an Alice in Wonderland FREEEEEAK and I have made a hobby out of planning trips to WDW.

I hope that I can get to know my fellow cruisers better so that I can go on my first cruise with friends AND my family.

I agree with the others...renting sound like a better option for now.

Morning all!

Another busy day for DD7 & me - baking cookies, weeding gardens, maybe even a trip to the garden centre for the annuals. All the fun stuff. We went to see Ice Age 3 last night...it was pretty good. At least I am not making her work her entire summer away right?

Oh...trust me...you're hanging with the warpiest (is that a word...lol) people around! Stick with us kid and you'll fit riiiiiiiiiiiight in...

And how did I miss Jen acquiring another DIS DH? I've fallen behind...I guess I need to pay more attention...:rolleyes1

And Don...please shower...how else do you think that Aaron is finding his way to you? Forget GPS...we can smell you all the way down here!! ;)

I've been at my sister's house since Wednesday. They are in Clearwater, FL for the holiday weekend while Mom's doggie sitting for them here. They would have normally boarded the dogs, but their puppy missed the age cut off by just a couple days. So i've been hanging out with Mom...we don't get much time with just us, so we've been shopping and scrapbooking and just hanging out. DH is joining us today around lunch time since he has the day off! I don't think i've ever been over here when it's been soooooooo quiet...:rotfl:

Oh yeah...I have forced my Mom into listening to Twilight via audiobook. We listened to almost the whole book yesterday while scrapbooking...we've got about an hour left on the book...but I don't think Mom's become smitten with the series. Or maybe she is and will read the rest of it when she goes home...lol

Just popped in to say :wave2:

Stay out of trouble...cuz i'm not here to get into trouble with you!! :upsidedow

Hi welcome to the thread! My name is Todd. It is a pleasure to meet you.

Good late morning everyone. I have the day off today and was suppose to be in Maine with my siblings. Poison ivy is spreading so I played it safe for their sake and stayed home. Deb now has it too. :headache: I spoke with my doctors nurse earlier this week to try and get a prescription but they wanted to see me and I was tied up at work. Only urgent care is open today and I have a call into them waiting on a call back now. I'll take a shot or pills because these darn steroid cremes aren't working.

Until I get the call I'm working putting together a product set deep dive for my management. Need to set up some data extracts. :surfweb:

Good morning everyone!!! Happy July 3rd.

Happy 3rd Kathy. :)

Good morning guys!
I am up, but not sure for how long.
It was a late night, working on the taxes.
I think I an ready to call the account, just I more look through and hopefully then they will be gone. :)
However I am happy knowing that in 149 days I will be in WDW!:yay::yay:

Hi Katherine. Say hi to John. He seems to have quieted down on the boards lately. In 149 days or around that time I expect a full tour of your new DVC digs. :)

Good Morning, from my desk at work.
75% of the office took a vacation day today. DAP is more important than having today off.
I think I will use today to do some housecleaning. Re-clear off my desk. Wash the windows. Dance around to DIS Radio.:goodvibes

Hi Todd. So are we the only two working today? :sad1: Enjoy your dancing.

Mornin' fellas! Any big plans for today?

Hi Paul. Probably some work stuff.. :(

If we do get lucky and get some money back I will be forwarding all proceeds to DU for our trips.
Watch my refund amout will be something stupid like 3 dollars. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Thats a beer ya know. Beauty eh? :drinking1

Phillip was up bright and early on this day off to head out to one of his "happy places," the pull-a-part junk yard on the east side of town. I slept in a bit, until the pups would have no more of it. Looks like today is going to be the nice day around here. The rest of the weekend might be iffy weather-wise.

Brandie: We haven't seen enough of you around here lately! We miss you!

Paul: Glad you made it home from Las Vegas DIS Hubby. Hope you have a great holiday weekend with your REAL family now.

Don/Aaron: Don't cause too much trouble spending the weekend together. Sounds like a recipe for mischief to me. Funny how DISers expect phonecalls from other DISers who are together having fun. Don't forget to "drunk dial" Paul or he'll be disappointed.

Nicole: Congratulations on the house thing - even though it sounds like it will cause some turmoil. I agree that you should plan to rent for awhile, but set a time limit for that so you don't sink too much money into "nothing."

Todd: Sounds like you're going to make the most of your day at work today. Sorry you have to be there, but I agree that us seeing you at D-A-P:lovestruc is more important than your having a long weekend right now. :)

Katherine: Taxes are yucky - regardless of the outcome. Hope you do get some money back.

Jennifer: :wave2: cake!

Shelly: Hope you have a great weekend with the 88-pound whining dog (a cross-reference from Facebook).

George: I'm so sorry about the poison ivy. It just sounds miserable. I hope you get some help soon.

Newbies: WELCOME to the group!!!! Sit down and stay awhile!

Everyone else: Have a great weekend!

Hi Todd. So are we the only two working today? :sad1: Enjoy your dancing.

I think we are. Oh, well. Could be worse. Back to recreating Tapestry of Nations around my desk.....baylah, baylah, baylah......Here, in this circle of nations, the Millennium Walk reminds us that we are indeed one earthly family. Join us ... as we celebrate the circle of life ... the family of human kind ... the Tapestry of Nations!....oh bay-eh-la...oh bay-eh-eh-eh-laaaaaa

(my secretary is going to either commit me or dance with me by the end of the day....just wait.)

Hi Shelly.

Hi George

Hope you're able to get some relief soon.

If she hasn't wanted to commit you by now . . . :goodvibes

UUGH! Help!

My parents are trying to talk the whole family into going on a cruise.

I would rather go on a cruise with my friends than just my family (we don't hang out much and everyone else is married...boring!) - but I don't want to tell my parents, NO - I am going with my internet friends? :confused3

How in the world do I explain you guys?!?

I technically could do both...but I only have limited vacation time and they are talking about doing a pretty long cruise. 10 days maybe? I would not be able to do both.

Thanks Shelly and Andrea. I'm not suffering really but it does put a crimp in social activities. Guess I'll just have to get some movies and popcorn:: out for viewing. :)

The nurse called me back a bit ago. Because the clinic I go to is closed today with the exception of Urgent Care, they are swamped. The nurse is going to either -

A) Get the doctor to call in an rx for prednisone without a visit - or -
B) Get me in to see the doctor on duty sometime today....

I wonder if a big ol ice cream sundae would help? :upsidedow

I'm sure it would. Haven't you ever heard of the healing properties of dessert? Very potent.:goodvibes:goodvibes
