Thanks to this board I have had many wonderful trips to the Dolphin, Swan , and now I am thinking of trying PO FQ for the next trip.
My concern is we like being close to Epcot and World Showcase. I know that PO FQ is near Downtown Disney. Can someone tell the options of getting to Epcot from there other than a bus?
I would also be interested in hearing from anyone who has been there lately and what they thought. Thanks:)

POFQ is a very nice small resort. It is reopening this weekend after being closed down shortly after Sept. From the resort there is only one way to Epcot and that is the bus. If you feel like it you can take the bus to MK, board a monorail and switch to the Epcot monorail at TTC. Much easier to take the direct bus from the resort.

If you rent a car you can drive to all the theme parks, and park free in their lots, for staying on property! MKY:)

The bus runs regularly from the POFQ. It takes about 15 minutes or so. It isn't bad but it is different than being able to walk to Epcot from your resort.

The PO FQ does have a charm of its own. The grounds are always beautiful. Well taken care of and we enjoy the music that they pipe in. This property is quite different, though, from the Dolphin and Swan. It does not have inside hallways. The "halls" are outside. Although we always enjoy coming out of our room and looking at the lovely courtyards or the river. It also doesn't have a sit down restaurant, either. Boatwrights is down at Riverside which is a nice walk along the river or a quick bus ride to get to. And, remember the beds are doubles and not queens as well the room is a bit smaller in size than the Dolphin.

What we enjoy, though, is the food court at both the FQ and Riverside. Nice selection. Easy to navigate. Very family friendly. And, we like being so close to DTD and the Marketplace area. It is easy to get to...and doesn't take a lot of time. Plus, is a change of pace from the theme parks.

Be sure to get down to Riverside to see the Bob Jackson in the lounge. He is a hoot...to say the least. Very entertaining.

We really enjoy POFQ because it is a smaller resort. There are only about 1000 rooms instead of over 2000 like most other hotels. Seems a little less hectic than the larger moderates and even than the Dolphin/Swan...especially since there was a large convention there when we were there. Hope you enjoy your stay...we always do.

From what I am hearing I think that I will enjoy my stay. I am looking forward to trying a new resort and think that this will be a good choice.
I truly appreciate the input that I have received!

Coach 4448 -- Enjoy yourself and welcome to the DIS. Be sure to post any questions you have on the boards. It seems like someone on the boards always has the answer.
