Pneumonia, Bronchitis, swollen nodes.....??

Ok, went for my annual breast specialist visit (no cancer, but DSis had 3 yrs ago, so I go once a year for peace of mind). She found a 2cm node under my left arm - too deep for me to feel. Did an ultrasound & said it was just fine - puffy, but I was probably getting an infection.

DD had bronchitis early Dec & I had been fighting the crud, but winning the battle. Until about 12/14 when I started to get worse. 12/15 night I spiked a fever which lasted til 12/18 (about 102) when I went to Dr & got a Zpak. Was wheezing, rattling, fluid in lungs, coughing, sinus, miserable.

Got a bit better & fever left, but seemed a new 'variation' each day. Still coughing some, sinus drainage, etc. 12/30 I woke up with a horrid sore throat on left side - went away during the day, but tons of drainage. 12/1 I noticed 2 nodes in neck on that side pop up. one pretty large, the other small. DD seems to have the SAME nodes, same side, same location just a bit smaller.

Well, after the armpit node, I'm now imagining all sorts of horrid things. I have my normal yrly on 1/10.

All you experts out there....should I be terrified as I am???? I know nodes fight infection, but I'm a worriwort!

I always say go to the dr. when you're concerned, and I am NO expert, but I always get swollen lymph nodes when I get an infection. I had such a horrible infection when I was in middle school that they actually removed one of my lymph nodes because it was 4 times it's normal size and making me worse (I had mono). I got bronchitis in 2005 and all my nodes were swollen. I ended up at the urgent care and the dr. said I just caught it before it became pneumonia. It was awful. After taking 5 prescriptions (including an inhaler) and 2 weeks rest I was fine. I hope that's all it is for you but if in doubt see your dr. ASAP.

Not that I am a doctor, but it does sound like it is going to run its course until you are done with whatever it is.. I would go to my primary care, maybe it is an infection that will require a course of antibiotics to boot it out of your system....if not, virile and you will have to ride it out..
