DM3, Good luck this weekend!!! :rotfl2: Remind me where you are going.

Every year we go to the same resort with DHs family. Overall it is okay except we don't like the condos that we stay in now. Used to stay in WAY nicer ones. The main problem lies in one SIL and her very obnoxious boys. They are like 14 and the other is 7. They are not trustworthy kids and just overall are bullies. We try to avoid them as much as possible, but we all have dinner together every night so that is a bit hard. Not to mention that this is the family (all of them) who we went to WDW with and they actually wanted to tour the parks in a group of 16. And we were the weird ones who didn't think that was a good idea. :rotfl: They also don't have very good boundaries and tend to overstep our comfort level. DD10 has anxiety disorder and needs firm expectations and for someone to be in control. This same SIL tends to try to take over everyone's plans and just have "all the kids" types of expectations. That doesn't work for DD and throws her for a major meltdown in process basketcase type of scenario. So all weekend it feels like you are playing offense with a very aggressive basketball opponent who is constantly in your space. It gets old

Oh yeah. And I told DH that maybe he should mention this weekend when we are all together that we will not be celebrating Christmas before Christmas this year. (Last year I had to go out and buy a new Santa gift for the younest 'cause G'ma gave it to him. "But it was the only thing he said he wanted." Yeah, no kidding.) That could add an interesting twist to the whole thing.

Two of my sisters are up there this weekend--my parent's cabin is close by--so I think I will get them to meet me on Sat morning for coffee to help save my sanity!!

DM3, that does not sound like a good time! Is it just for the weekend?
Your DH owes you big time for even going. Yes, get together with your sisters--at least you could have that to look forward to. OK, you do need good luck. :grouphug:

Princess- I always go to the gym sometime between 11 and 1 because there are less people there and most times I have the locker room pretty much to myself. It was a little busier than usual when I went. My only problem with the gym is that there are these young guys who like to come up from the free weight room and "show off" in the Cybex room where they have the regular equipment. I am there to work out, I don't need the distractions. :teeth:

My boss goes to the gym in the morning and she said all the "older" ladies go at that time and pretty much all of them walk around nekkid in the locker room.

That site was really strange coming from someone who was essentially talking about ways to kill someone.

Becky, Becky, Becky. :sad2:

You certainly are having a sucky time aren't you? Make sure you write all of this down. You don't want to forget any of the sacrifices you've made for this child. It will come in very handy in about 15 years.

:grouphug: for you, Sweetie. You know we all love you here and if you want, I'll send Tig to take care of that woman for you. Briarmom, Merle, and Angel will be her back up. I'll be right here to bail them all out. :thumbsup2
(Well, if it's a pay week and the bail isn't to high. )

Uh uh honey, your butts gonna be right there with us. We aren't gonna need bail cause I watch CSI and I know how to get away with stuff.

:rotfl:

Umm, Becky? Slight change of plans. We going to send her an anonymous letter.

You tell her, Merle!!!

Yes, keep my butt out of jail, please! If it's not going to jail for the wacky week on the other thread, it's not going to jail for anything else, ok?

Time to go pick up Ben.

I'm bummed--tomorrow is Jake's last day of camp. Then I have the little bugger, I mean cutie, home for the rest of the summer.

Yeah, I keep tellin' him that!! Get this! Last year he was working on a contract basis before he got permanently hired at his job and he had NO vacation time. If he wasn't there, he didn't get paid and since we couldn't afford that, he didn't take time off. So, he didnt' get up there until 10:30 Friday night!!! I pointed out to him that if it were MY family gathering, he never ever in a million years would have gone up on Thursday without me. He says he "might" have. Yeah, right. When pigs fly! We go this evening and come back Sunday. We used to love Sunday because we would go to the pool for a couple of hours before we left and then eat a picnic lunch sitting out there. Got ruined last year though because they all decided to steal our idea and then they took our table!! Seriously, we came to sit down and eat and they were sitting there eating at the table where we had put all our stuff. YOu sure wouldn't do that to strangers! They just bug me.

DH should be home in about half an hour. Woohoo. Let the fun begin. I may need to bring alcohol. Maybe if I am drunk all weekend, I won't care. That will not be good for my calorie count or metabolism though!

I want in on this plan, I look sweet and innocent but I'm a sneaky little thing. I could come in handy.

Julie,
Your DH's family sounds like my DH's. They are so funny, if you're an outsider looking in and you don't have to put up with thier crap. DH has four sisters, he is the oldest. They are a fertile little bunch and between them they have 8 kids under the age of six. Two years ago, his parents planned a trip to Hawaii. The whole family was going, we had to pay for airfare and his parents would cover the condos- sounds like a decent deal right? WRONG, Dh's parents got a two bedroom condo for all of us- there are 20 people in the family. I told my DH that I would love for him to go, but me and the kids were staying home- because honestly I think that really is what hell would be like. We all stayed home. They came home and three weeks later his oldest sister announced that she was PG and that they had convieved in Hawaii :scared:.
This year it was a trip to Disneyland. I love Disneyland, but again it was the whole condo thing. This time they got a four bedroom condo . We stayed home and are awaiting the announcment of when the next baby is due :p

edited to add: after all my ranting, I should tell you to have a good trip :rotfl: .

We got back from the oral surgeon consult. He seems like a nice guy and we made the appt for after our vacation. Alyssa isn't going with us, but we need to be here when she has it done. She doesn't have to decide beforehand on the general vs local, but I think she'll go with the general. Whatever makes her more comforable, I suppose. And the insurance seems to pay for it.

I'm glad that the consult went good. Keep me posted.
