Plz help!!! HDDR or MVMCP?

I have some friends that are taking their kids (8yo & 6yo) to DW for the 1st time, and have looked at HDDR and MVMCP. Any recommendations 1 way or the other? They can't do both.

Any help would be appreciated!!!

I have issues with Hoop Dee doo so I would recommend MVMCP. It is really cool, free cookies and hot cocoa for everyone. A special parade and usually special Wishes fireworks plus a free family photo and a button and you get the option to buy a special pin only for those with tickets that night.

Plus you get to see "snow" on main street and extra time at the Magic Kingdom and when I have been, all the rides were walk on

And you can see Santa. Better than HDD I think

MVMCP hands down. HDDR is nice, but MVMCP is 'magical'.

I have not been to either -- yet. But would choose MVMCP over HDDR in a blink.
HDDR you could most likely go on any trip. Not so with MVMCP.
We have been to MNSSHP and LOVED it.

I haven't done either, but would choose MVMCP since it is seasonal, and the HDDR is around all the time.

We are going to the HDDR next week for the first time, so after that I will have a better opinion.

I would think young children at WDW for the first time would want to see characters. There are no characters at the HDDR.

We are going for about the 6th time, so going to the HDDR is a nice change for us.

I've done both...HDDR once and MVMCP 3 times!

we had a blast at mvmcp, it gave us memories we could not have
found anywhere else!!

go to that over the HDDR.

For dollars/value it would be MVMCP for me.

MVMCP hands down, there is nothing more beautiful than the MK at night with all the holiday decorations. The free family photo, the hot chocolate and the cookies all add to the atmosphere. The best time to go is during the week though it is less crowded! And I think since it is their first time they will want all the park time that they can get!
