We are going to Disneyland this november. My niece is scared however. She is quite big and arfaid she won't be able to go on the rides. Can anyone give me a list of rides that she should not worry about. Ones without seatbelts or restraints and ones that only have shoulder harnesses. Thank you!

We were just there with friends. We also have a very plus sized person in our group. He didn't have any problem with not fitting on any rides that I could remember. Most safty bars are ajusted to fit down to your size. So it will stop were your belly starts. Keep that in mind if sharing something with someone small.

I'm a 6'1" male with a 52 inch chest and have never had a problem fitting on any Disney ride....Six Flags is another story. Disney seems to have built their rides with everyone in mind. Seat belts and lap bars seem to have extra room in them fir us larger folk :D

I'm a 24/26 and haven't had problems with any rides.....

I think the only ride that's a problem is at DCA - the orange stingers. I think there is a 200 pound weight limit, and the chain is not long enough for some folks.
Have fun!

I am a 24/26 and have ridden many rides in the same seat as my two girls (ages 4 & 2), but if she feels alright riding alone on some rides, she may be more comfy.

Rides she may want to sit by herself: (I fit fine on all these rides with one of my kids, but with both we were a bit tight)
Peter pan
Alice in wonderland (Each catipillar has two seats and one of them is a bit smaller than the other)
Dumbo
Autopia
Roger Rabbit
Chip n Dale treehouse (walking tour, but the stairs are VERY narrow)

I had no problems on the following:
Indy
Jungle Cruise
Tarzan's treehouse (LOTS OF STAIRS, heavy breathing LOL)
Splash
Gadgets Go Coaster
Haunted Mansion
Pirates
Star Tours
Casey Jr train
It's a Small world
Carrousel
Tea cups
Storybook Land Canal Boats

In California Adventures, I rode all the roller coasters and had no problems. In bugs land I sat alone in the catipillar ride and put the girls in the seat in front of me, but easily could have shared a seat with one of them.

Most of the seats at Disneyland are bench type seats, with the exception of roller coasters and even then the harness will adjust to fit her body. She just may have to sit alone in the seat to have extra elbow room so she doesn't give her seat partner a black eye. LOL

I was actually afraid I wouldn't be able to go on this when I first saw the size of the cars, but I fit just fine riding by myself. Fun little ride :D

You really shouldnt worry about that! That is very uneccessary. The only problem is the Matterhorn. In that ride your niece will have to sit on top of her parent or gaurdian. You might be squished but you will NOT be revused admittance! Even both my brothers squished to fit, we made fun of them for a week! Your niece will be fine. Tell her im plus sized and she shouldnt feel that way about something as happy as Disneyland!

If you decide to ride Mullholand Maddness, make sure she will be sitting with someone who's similar in size to her. We rode it a few months ago and they weren't going to let the mom and daughter (grade school age) sitting in front of us ride together. They inserted a pad on the daughters seat, but there was still too much space. They told them mom that her daughter would have to ride alone....but instead I offered to sit with the girl and the mom sat with my husband. Afterwards the mom said she was totally embarassed.

I totally agree. I rode Mulhollad Madness with my older (way bigger back then) brother. There was a lot of space left so i tried to get a cast members attention so they could give me something to put on the bars. The cast members ignored me and i was terrified because i was literally flying out of my seat. Once i got off the ride i was in tears of being angry and scared!

I'm a big & tall dude and I had no problems riding rides at Disneyland and Disneyworld. Disney does a great job in designing rides for all shapes and sizes. The only ride I had a tight squeeze was Spacemountain at Disneyland (I think that one is closed for rehab anyway). That is because the seats are side by side. All other rides were no problem.

At home, I live right by Six Flags over Texas and it's a nightmare fitting into their rides. Half of their rides I can not fit comfortably. They must have small people designing them. I can't stand going to Six Flags because of that problem.

Thank God for Disney!!!!!!!!!:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

I certainly understand that. I avoid Six Flags Astroworld for the same reason.
