Plus Size at Sea World

Hi All,

Question for all of you Sea World experts!

I'll be visiting Sea World in a month with my family, and was wondering if anyone out there had any experience with being plus size at Sea World. I have never had any issues at all on rides at Magic Kingdom, etc at Disney, and was wondering (hoping) that Sea World will be the same.

Any comments would be great!

As the rides are not the reason to go to Sea World, I'd say you'd have much less trouble than anywhere else! As far as the rides go, I've never seen anyone have any trouble, but hopefully Kelly Monaghan or some other *dreamy* expert will have more conclusive information.

Hi Kim, I am a plus size female, wear a size 18-20 women size and am chunky in the waist area. I have ridden the rides at Seaworld without a hitch. No problem at all. ALthough turnstiles scare the heck out of me! LOL But like the other person stated, the most fun at Seaworld is in the animal interactions. There are only a few rides at Seaworld, so not to much to worry about.
Actually, I would like to find out myself if there are larger size wet suits to do the dolphin swim at Discovery Cove.

There are only three "adult" rides. Kracken can be a tight-fit, but they have the "big boy" seats like at Universal--I think those are in rows 4 and 5. Journey to Atlantis is just a lap bar, much like Space Mountain, and Wild Arctic is just a seat belt.

I'm glad you asked this as we are taking our first trip to SW in July and I am a big girl too. Happy to know that if I want to ride them I can without feeling like an idiot.

I am a size 24 and have no problem to get a wet suit that fits at Discovery Cove. The same applied to Seaworld when I did my Marine Mammal Keeper experience.

When we went to Sea World with some friends . One friend did not fit. I think he was about 6'2 350 lbs. This was in the big boy seat. It was pretty close. There is a seat outside the ride to see if you will fit.

I was at Discovery Cove yesterday and, I must say, I didn't say any truly large people, as one always does at other parks. Self selection?

FWIW, the wet suits go up to size 18XL. So, since you need a wet suit to participate, my guess is that that's the limit, unless you bring your own.

You might get a more definitive an swer by calling the reservation number. 1-800-4DISCOVERY.

I did some more snooping at DC yesterday and they tell me that they have never had a guest they couldn't fit. Also, the 18XL size cited refers to the flotation vest, not the full wet suit.

HELLO, I GOT THE BOOK THE OTHER ORLANDO, IT IS GREAT AND VERY HELPFUL, WE ARE GOING TO UNIVERSAL IN OCT 28 2008 THU NOV 4 2008 DOING SEAWORLD DIS/COV AND UNIVERSAL STAYING AT THE ROYAL P ON UNIVERSAL PROP. HAVE HAD A GREAT DEAL OF HELP FROM THE BOOK AND THIS SITE. TAKEING OUR GRANDKIDS FOR THERE 10TH BIRTHDAY. I AM AND OLD FAT GRANDMA(MEME) THEY CALL ME, SO HOPEFULLY WHE IN DIS/COV IN THE WET SUIT ON THE SAND SITTING BY THE WATER, THE SMALL CHILDREN DONT WANT TO SAVE THIS WHALE AND ROLL ME IN. HAHA.
