Hi everyone, I'm pretty new here, but I've been a lurker for a long time. This will be my third trip to WDW. I was last there in December, and completely meant to post a trip report, but time got away from me and I never ended up doing it.

The reason I call this a "do-over trip" is because our trip in December was not the greatest, mostly because we brought my brother. He is 20 years old and can be super self-centered. He decided to go with us at the last minute, didn't pay a dime towards anything, and was miserable the whole time. Now I had saved up for my mom and I for over six months, so of course I was not happy with his attitude! My mom and I even got into it the last day we were there, which we NEVER do when it's just the two of us. So needless to say, we need a do-over! Please read the next post for our trip plan!

UPDATE: If you were reading this PTR at the time I started it, you will notice I took down the stuff about my car accident. That is over with now, and I didn't want the negativeness in here lol!

wow that is a rough start to a pretrip. sorry to hear about that. hopefully things will work out. I didnt even book our trip until feb 11th. I had been looking since last oct. but my job was a little rocky since I came back from maternity leave so I wanted to make sure I was back to full time statis before we booked and I wanted to make sure I was getting what I thought in income taxes. We will be paying off our trip this friday yeah. I acually went back to full time the monday after I booked our trip how cool is that.

Thanks, yeah it was pretty rough, but the good news is my car is fixed now and looks as good as new!

I hope you have fun on your trip!:wizard:

UPDATE: I got my car fixed and it is as good as new. Okay, moving forward to more fun, Disney things.

I am already thinking about what I want to bring on the trip. Yes, I know the trip is over nine months away and that is pathetic and sad, but oh well lol! We all know how quickly time goes by and before we know it, February will be here.

Okay, so this is what I have at the top of my wish list for the trip. Yes, I am one of those people who has to buy all new clothes, shoes, accessories, toiletries, etc. for every vacation. Anyway...moving on.

I really want one of these Vera Bradley backpacks. I have a smaller cross-body one, but it really doesn't hold much.

I have decided that all I am wearing to the parks from now on is Crocs, since they are so comfy and my feet didn't hurt once. I really like this flips flops, and the color will go with a lot.

These are new and super cute! I am not sure how much support they have for walking around all day, but they sure look nice!

Anyway, I have been thinking about those three items lately, and I wanted to post them partly because I don't want to forget that I wanted to buy them lol!

I will post more stuff later.

Comments, questions, etc. are welcome! I feel like I'm talking to myself in here!;)

I want to take my mom out for a special meal for dinner while we are there. Which of these would be the best choice and why?

1. Ohana

2. Citricos

3. California Grill

Hey! Just caught your PTR from another PTR--what a rough start! I am so sorry to hear about your car accident. That sucks big time! Well, there is always a great big beautiful tomorrow waiting:cool1:

I haven't gone to any of those restaurants, but when I get back from my trip in August, I will let you know how Ohana is. I would bring her to one that will appeal to her- I get the idea that Ohana is louder and more family orientated, while California Grille seems to be more adulat orientated.

Yay!! I have a reader!:cutie:

Oh thanks! It was pretty stressful there for a few weeks, but it is behind me now (hopefully!)

That's cool you are going in August. Do you have a Pre-Trippie? We talked about Ohana and she sounds like she might be into that. We both love anything Hawaiian themed. Yeah, definately let me know how it is!

Have you been to California Grill? I wonder how difficult it is to get a reservation for fireworks time AND by a window..

Never mind! I see your Pre-Trippie link in your sig! Going to check it out right now!:wizard:

I haven't been to Cali Grill....but I might be going when I go to the world again in December, so I will let you know after that lol! I know you can't request a window at that time, it has to be when you check in. I bet if you called in the morning 90 days out and made the reservation for later in your trip, you could get it!

I am digging the backpack. I figured we would just bring whatever...now I might have go shopping :thumbsup2. Are crocs good? I have never seen the flip flops. I am against the ones with the closed toes. I cannot stand clothes toed shoes unless I am in heels or sneakers.

I am so jealous you get to go with your Mom. I have been trying to drag my Dad for years to any kind of vacation. We got Las Vegas in 2007.

Pop would have been my Value choice, it looks sooooo fun just to stay there.

I'm glad your car/truck? is better. I have been at fault in accidents it sucks, and you look at it and just get so grrr over the fact there is no one to blame. Well at least I did.

Where in California did you live? I was going to say if San Diego it is probably that Grand Floridian desire stems from the Hotel Del. I know mine does.

Okay cool!

Yeah, if we decide to go there, I will definately call 90 days out. Man I have a long time to wait lol!

Yeah, the closed-toe ones aren't the prettiest, but they sure are comfy! That's all I wore on my trip in December. Usually I'm a flip flop girl, but my feet kill me so much when I wear them all day. So that is why I am going to get Crocs flip flops and hopefully it will be the best of both worlds!

Aww, that's a bummer! Maybe when you show your dad all your pics after you get back, he'll want to go with you.:thumbsup2 I think most men would really like Epcot.

Pop is a lot of fun! That's where we stayed in December. Everything is so cute and colorful. The bus stops weren't really any more crowded than the more expensive hotels.

Oh thanks, I am glad it's better too! Definately a rough start to the year! LOL I know what you mean about blame. In my mind I blame the lady next to me that was trying to shoot in front of me, therefore distracting my attention!

I lived in Santa Rosa, which is an hour north of San Francisco. Have you ever been up there?

Me - Stephanie AKA Plumeria. I'm 25 years old, and I grew up in California, going to Disneyland.

I grew up in California too!!!!

Well, that answers my next question. So you're a nocal girl - I was socal (grew up in L.A.).

But I graduated from UC Santa Cruz, so I have a deep love for that area. It's gorgeous!

Anyway, just wanted to say hi to my wish buddy. :hippie: How fun that you're planning a trip! We're going to Florida in August -- we have some Disney passes that we bought a few years ago that still have some days on them. I envy you going during the quieter time of year.

Talk to you soon!

Hey there, so sorry to hear about your car, that totally stinks, but you are right it could have been worse. I had a wall jump out infront of me, I was glad to get rid of the car (it was totaled) but like you I was most upset about my clean driving record being smudged like the stain I left on that wall. I was told though that after so many years of no tickets or accidents it would be removed.

Don't think it's crazy to start a PTR so early, my trip isn't until January, keeping a PTR helps the time go by faster I think.

I am all about only wearing crocs to WDW, my first time I went I wore sandals, flip flops and tennies, blister, blister, blister, so the second time I went I gave in to the crocs and had a blisterless vacation. I just ordered the Mommoth crocs today.

I love all the pics you posted. I am onboard for the long haul.

Hey there WISH buddy! Thanks for visiting my trip report! That's cool you are going in August though. Anytime in WDW is a good time lol! It will be super hot though - have you been that time of the year before? I have been there in Sept. and it was still very hot and sticky, but we had fun anyway.

So cool that we're both from Cali! I'm sure you visited Disneyland a lot, right? We used to go once or twice a year.

Aww, sorry to hear about your driving incident as well! Yeah, it sure makes your pride take a hit lol! That's good that it will be removed eventually. I am on pins and needles, waiting to get my renewed auto insurance policy in July.:headache:

January huh? That's awesome! Yay, we can wait out the rest of the year together!:woohoo: I agree that it makes the time go by a lot faster.

You will have to let me know how the Mammoths are. They were everywhere at WDW in December, and I was very tempted to buy them!

I love Disneyland.

My dad worked for Southern Cal gas company, and they used to rent the park out for one night every year -- it was awesome! I think we would go from like 8 at night till 2 in the morning. Just a few hours, but my brother and I looked forward to that night so much.

It's been fun when we go back home to visit my family, to bring my own daughter to Disneyland and give her those memories too.

And yes, we have been to Orlando in August before. My daughter is 13, so we can pretty much only go during the summer. Can you say hot and rainy? But it's still vacation, so we just roll with it. :goodvibes

My car insurance didn't go up too much after my accident, I was sweating that too but was relieved, it was so insignificant of an increase I worried for nothing. I hope yours is small too.

Yup January, it was supposed to be December 2010, but I talked Ma into going in January, I just couldn't hang waiting for so long. I subbed so I will be here to keep you company during those long months.

I will definately let you know how the mammoths work out. I would have worn my caymens through the winter if my feet didn't get so cold, don't know why waited till winter was over to get a pair of mammoths.:confused3
