Pls say it ain't so....NO APA at HHI

I just read a post that mentioned that Chef Gordon has had a change of responsibilities and can no longer present the APA evenings. Boy we are so sad, we were so looking forward to this.... (just told my diillusional DH and he said "oh, I'm sure he will for us!)

I sure hope DVC will post his crab cake receipe in the VM I have it somewhere, the secret is Ritz crackers, but they ALWAYS taste best as part of APA!

I was the one who posted that info. We were supposed to have our 4th annual APA a week from today. Chef Gordon sent me an email lasst week and canceled it. I was not surprised, except for Simba's Mom, everyone recently was unable to book one, or they had their's canceled. He said they are no longer doing it. The recipe for the crabcakes was a while back in VM, and I also have it from Chef Gordon. I have made them a number of times, they are not difficult at all. We are hoping that Chef Gordon has some sort of wine tasting or cooking event next week.

OK, I gotta know what does APA stand for? Is it the private chef's dinner at the beach house?

APA stands for "A Private Affair", and yes, it's the private chefs dinner at the beach club. One reason I'm sad about it is that I can't understand why Disney is no longer using his excellent cooking skills this way. The only way it would make sense to me is if they plan to increase Chef Gordon's cooking classes, mixers, etc.

I saw on anotehr thread that Chef Gordon also does tours. It's rumored (just a fellow DISer's thinking) that he may be helping to fill in while they replace the naturalist that's leaving.

Now I remember!! I thought I should know this since I've been hanging around these boards for a while, but I could think what APA meant for the life of me! Thanks.

I'm also sorry about this not being available anymore. It sounded really cool and wanted to try it if we ever went to HH as a family.
