Hi everybody. I need help. New to this topic and don't know anything about how many pts. are required or what resorts are available or anything. Can someone point me to some information - "renting dvc pts for dummies" or something like that?

We have stayed at AKL and it was very nice but too small for our comfort. We generally stay offsite in a condo. I thought maybe I could get the best of both worlds this way - if I can afford it.

First, you decide where, when and how many nights you need. Then, you can look up how many points you would need by clicking here http://www.wdwinfo.com/disney-vacation-club/DVCpoints.shtml.

Most of the points on the rental board 'rent' for $10 per point. Some will rent for less and some for more.

Once the two parties agreed to the financial terms, the owner will call DVC to secure your reservation. Once the unit has been reserved, the owner should send you the confirmation number and the phone number for you to call DVC directly and verify the reservation.

The only thing left at this point is to settle all the financial matters and you go on your trip The rooms are basically pre-paid so you pay nothing to Disney. They will however ask for a credit card when you check in. This is to cover the incidental charges such as room service, phone charges, park charges, etc.
