Pls help - Toronto Downtown hotel

We are looking for a Toronto Hotel close to the Rogers Centre.
2 adults and 2 kids (8 and 11) going in June.

I was looking at
Westin Harbour Castle (hotwire: $150)
Intercontinental (friends and family: $145)
Radisson Admiral (caa rate: $190)

Any help would be appreciated.

How close to the Rogers Center to you want/need to be? B/c we always stay at the Delta Chelsea (Bay/Gerrard area) in Toronto. It's downtown, reasonably close to the subway and Eaton Centre, and a great hotel for families.

How about the Novotel? I haven't stayed there, but it has been highly recommended to me.

The Westin Harbor is pretty nice and has the added advantage (in my mind) to being right by the Ferry terminal for the ferries that run to the Toronto Islands which can be a fun diversion if you are there in June.

I really dislike the delta, I think it's old and had better days. The pool is mediocre and a bit far north.
I really like the sheraton city centre. They have a really great indoor/outdoor pool and great gym. The hotel is 1 block to the eaton centre and an easy walk to the rogers centre.
They have been having some great prices the last year, check out their specials/packages on their website.

I agree with mollseven, the Delta is very worn and is north of the main downtown area.....funny I just booked (as in 10 minutes ago) a weekend in Toronto staying at the Toronto Hilton which is really close to the Sheraton Centre Hotel (this is where we usually stay) but their price was higher than the Hilton which I got for $119 a night, the pay in advance amount so if you know for sure when you are staying this is a great deal. Very close to everything

As someone who use to live downtown, i'd recommend the Sheraton or Hilton as well. Walking distance to Skydome (I refuse to use the new name), and to Queen St., which I would consider a must do, even if it's just to go to the Silver Snail.

we stayed at the Radisson admiral; it was a very fast walk to the stadium. We really enjoyed the hotel and barely touched our car once we parked it. We got a really good Government (military) rate so we couldn't complain even if we wanted to ((but we didn't!)) We had a lovely view of the CN Tower and the stadium.

I would highly recommend the Residence Inn . Its proximity to the Rogers Centre is awesome, the hotel is super-clean, the rooms are large and modern, full kitchens in every room, great pool and hot tub, fitness centre, excellent hot and cold breakfast buffet, and even a managers reception (a hot and cold light meal) several evenings every week. The staff there was fantastic, from the gentlemen who handled the valet parking to the front desk to the housekeepers. Another nice perk: many rooms have a view of the CN Tower (especially pretty at night).

Last I checked, this hotel was rated #1 on Tripadvisor (after staying there, we are not surprised.....it was our best Toronto getaway ever ).

Sometimes their packages can be the best way to go.....they often include parking and tickets to nearby attractions (like the CN Tower) for the same price as the regular room rate.

Just stayed at Sheraton Toronto Centre.
They had a REALLY good discounted rate for Club level floors for weekend stays.
Everything was within walking distance (even in the winter!).
We walked to CN Tower outside and used the underground PATH system to walk over to the Eaton Centre.

I do not like or recommend the Delta Chelsea. I think it is a big, huge dump. The pool is extremely overrated. It is actually tiny and filthy.

I have, and will continue to recommend wholeheartedly the Sheraton Centre Hotel. The rooms are updated, you get a fantastic view (I prefer facing North) and you can walk without going outside for miles using the PATH. The Eaton Centre is a slow, four minute walk away. There are tons of fast food places underground so you never have to eat at the hotel.

If you stay on the harbour front you will be close to the Rogers Centre but not much else (except the CN Tower).

From the Sheraton Centre it will take you about 7 to 10 minutes to walk to the Rogers Centre. You can do this without ever going outside as it is connected to the PATH which is the underground walkway.

Downtown Toronto is, for the most part, an extremely safe city to walk around, even at night.

My husband highly recommends the Residence Inn although I think it would probably cost more than the Sheraton Centre.

Another recommendation here for the Residence Inn downtown! It may cost a bit more than some of the other hotels, but you have a full kitchen and the location can't be beat! We saved a lot by being able to eat some of our meals in the room. It was also nice for the kids not to have to go out to restaurants every single meal. They like eating out but it can get tiresome when it happens all the time.

The Intercontinental is on Front Street, mere minutes away from the Skydome (either through MTCC/Skywalk or just down Front Street)...

The Residence Inn is great for familes, just a fee blocks north on John Street from the Skydome

The Radisson and Westin are also close by, but on the other side of the Gardiner...

Sheraton Centre is a great hotel which I stay at whenever I need a room downtown for the night, you can pretty much walk to Skydome either outside or through PATH in about 15 minutes...
