Okay, so here's the deal:
I have an early morning reservation for my mom and I at CRT. We will be staying at WL. I set this up to surprise my mom.

  • Since it's an 8:05 reservation, Should we take the WL boat (don't know if it leaves early enough)
  • or should we take the car?

Also, I realize I will have to tell someone that we have a reservation. I want to avoid spoiling the surprise (I want to walk with her right up to the castle and see the look on her face :cloud9:when she realizes where we're having breakfast!)
  • How can I get through the check points without having to say it out loud or having the CM accidentally say something about it? :rolleyes1
Many thanks in advance for your help!!:woohoo:

Well when we stay at Fort Wilderness and take the boat to the Magic Kingdom it usually starts at least an hour before the park opens, sometimes earlier. Once we did take the resort to resort boat to the Contemporary and then we walked over to the MK. That boat typically starts running a little earlier than the resort to MK boat. The resort to resort boat (the one that is smaller) goes between WL, CR and the Fort. You can ask down at the dock and the staff there should be able to give you a boat schedule, it depends on time of year and park openings.

As to surprising your Mom, it may depend on what hours the MK has that morning. If the MK does not open until 9, you'll need to go through the side where guests get in early due to having breakfast reservations. Last time we did this I was the only one to give our name to the CM so that we could get in that line, but it was obvious that we were in a different line than others and that we went in earlier. I guess that all depends on how much your Mom will "clue in" to what's going on, or if you could distract her away from it, come up with another reason you're in line?

Sounds like fun!

when you go into the "early ADR" line? Do they ask you where your reservation is or for your reservation number? I figure as long as I know what to expect, I can try to preempt the CM saying anything about it being CRT by whispering to them not to mention it out loud...would that be too obnoxious?

What do you all think?

They don't ask about your reservation. But you go through several lines to get into the park. First you stand outside the park, then they let you in through the ADR line and you wait just inside the park, then you go through the tunnel and wait again and finally they release you for your reservation. We were never asked where we were going. Hope that helps!

I don't think you will be able to keep it from her as you have to check in with your breakfast reservation to be allowed in the park before its opening time. If MK is having extra magic morning, you may be able to get in at 8 without having to say you have a breakfast reservation. I would bet you can say you have a breakfast reservation and give your name, just don't say it's at CRT. I don't know if you have to say which restaurant. The CM might ask just to make conversation, there isn't any way to prevent that.

Don't take the car. If you do that, you'll have to park at TTC, and take the boat or monorail over to the park. That will take a lot of time when you can just take the direct boat or the direct bus from WL. (If you don't have to wait a long time for the bus, taking the bus will be quicker than taking the boat).
