I have spent countless hrs on windsorhillsrent, vrbo and homeaway. Based on price and location, we've narrowed it down to WH or Crestwynd Bay. We've stayed at WH before, and although the location and space of the TH was perfect, the splash pool wasn't as much of a hit as I expected. That's why I also priced out other TH elsewhere that are without pools.

SO....it's either WH for $665-675 for the week (these are the lowest prices for a week that I've found there) or save $150 and stay in Crestwynd Bay for $514. My budget side says save the $$$ but I have yet to find anyone who's stayed at Crestwynd Bay so I don't want to make a huge mistake!

WWYD???

If the accommodations/amenities are similar, and you really don't care about the splash pool, I would pick the less expensive one. We drove by Crestwynd last year after I read a review of it on here (I did a search and put the link below). It is right near Windsor Hills so the location is great.

$150 is a nice chunk of change to save for other fun things! That being said, I know my family would prefer a place with a pool.

You could also get a condo at WH for less than what you would spend on the townhouse. That way you'd still have quite a bit of room, use the very nice resort pool, and still save a little money.
We stayed at WH in a townhouse the past two years. The splash pool was nice but we're over it now.

I thought about that already so I got some quotes on condos, but they were all $95-99 a night, which is close to the same as the townhomes! I did not do a blanket quote for condos on windsorhillsrent, just picked a couple off of vrbo and sent them messages. As I'm typing this, I'm thinking it's worth a shot to do it on windsorhillsrent just to see though!

We stayed at Crestwynd Bay last January and loved it. Here is a link to the place we stayed:

The owner, Hayden, was great to work with. The price was great - about $20/nt less that a WH condo. The townhouse was clean, beds were comfy, plenty of hot water, nicely furnished. It was great parking right outside your door. We never went to the pool, so I can't speak for that. The location is fabulous - even closer that Windsor Hills (really it's right before WH on Old Lake Wilson. I really think Creswtwynd Bay is a relatively undiscovered jem. You can save quite a bit and have the super close location to the parks. We are looking at returning next year, but our group may grow to be too many to be comfortable in a 3 br. Otherwise we would definitely return.

It's crazy to me the difference in every owners pricing! I got a ton of quotes for condos in WH and while some are closer to the Crestwynd Bay pricing, others are a ton higher! Some even higher than the townhomes!!!

Ugh, so I found a condo I really like in WH. It's $535 for the week, so only $20 higher than the townhome in Crestwynd Bay. I'm even more torn now!

Remember: you don't need the very best possible place. You just need a great one that meets your needs---and, usually, there are several that fit the bill. Just pick one and enjoy it!

I know how nerve wracking it can be to pick a place to stay. Don't go just on price. I did this with a condo at WH for our last trip. Then I started asking questions and the owner got really snippy. Flat out told me he didn't have time for my questions. At that point I got really nervous about the whole thing and cancelled the reservation. I was willing to give up my deposit and stay somewhere I felt comfortable, instead of spending sleepless nights worrying about it for months. Thankfully I was able to get my deposit back, but I've learned to ask questions first, then go with your gut as to which owner you like and which place works for your family.

I'm sure whatever place you choose will be great, and you will feel so relieved once the decision has been made!
