Pls help!! Better time to go to WDW? (POP)

Hi,
Thinking of bringing my four year old (bday 11/2) to see the mouse, what is better, October or the first week of December? I think that Dec. sounds good because not only is it value season, but, arent the resorts decorated for Xmas?? My daughter loves to see Xmas decorations. Also, what are the crowds like and how would a five yr old like POP?

The crowds are low the first two weeks of december and you can catch MVMCP. Its a great time of year to go. -Steph

Pop century is great for a five year old. Lots of big icons and colorful things to look out. It really feels like an extension of the parks whereas you feel you are in a park rather then a resort.

I particularly love the place.

the first 2 weeks in december are a great value season time to visit, & yes wdw is all decorated, even has some christmas only events like mickeys very merry christmas party at magic kingdom on select nights with seperate tickets, very cool experience with special christmas parade and park & most rides are open til midnight for these mvmcp ticket guests. at epcot there is the candlelite processional, musical show & christmas around the world, which has santa's around the world & that nations xmas story.

october is also a good time but alittle more crowded than first 2 weeks of december to visit wdw with the food & wine festival at the end of october (which is great fun for adults) & mickeys not so scary halloween party with a special parade & park hours on select nights, seperate tickets.

sorry, i just cant pick, i like both! hope either way you have a great wdw family vacation!

I say go the first week in December. It's a great time to go. The decorations in the park are beautiful, and there are some special events like Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party and the Candlelight Processional that make that time of year extra special. If your daughter loves Christmas lights, she'll have the opportunity to see one of the largest displays ever at Disney World! And it even snows on Main Street USA during Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party!

The one thing about December is that it can get pretty cold. There are days when they highs will only be in the 40's, and those mornings can be pretty chilly. It may be too cold to swim, too, so if that is a priority, December may not be your best choice. You really need to pack a variet of clothes--it can be chilly in the mornings, and a jacket is a must in the evening.

I've gone the past three years in December, and here's the weather I got:

Dec. 2002--Lots and lots of rain, a mix of warm and cold weather (some days I wore shorts, some days I wore pants).

Dec. 2003--Cold most of the week. Wore jeans and a jacket most of the trip. Was able to wear shorts maybe two or three days.

Dec. 2004--beautiful weather. Rained just one day. Wore shorts all week except for the day I went home, when it was significantly cooler.

Your daughter will love Pop. The larger than life big wheel, Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head, Mickey phone, and other icons are pretty neat to look at!
