Plenti points to buy GCs

HI all... I have about $46 saved in Plenti rewards that I would love to use on a Disney gift card. According to the Plenti website, GCs are not excluded from redemption of points (see below), but when I went into the store today, the cashier said that I was not able to use them to buy gift cards. Has anyone ever been successful in doing this??

"You cannot use Plenti points at Rite Aid for: tobacco products, alcohol, lottery tickets, licenses, money orders, money transfers, stamps, other mail services, prescriptions and prescription co-pays and for items prohibited by law."

I was hoping for the same thing too! If I can't, I'm just going to keep saving them and use them to fill up the tank of our rental car when we drive to HHI next year.
