Pleasure Island for New Years Eve

Has anyone done it? We have thought about it seriously but have haven't taken the plunge yet. Can anyone give me some insight on Pleasure Island New Year's Eve? Is it worth the hassle of the crowds to go?

I have done this for 9 years and have always had a fabulous time!! There is a limited number of tickets, and it usually sells out. The only time the crowd is an issue is right before countdown when everyone is out in the street. It is great fun!

We were there for the millenium and it was awesome. I would definitely do it again! My only concern would be all the "refurbishment" going on right now. The main street has been a a little clogged up. Does anyone know when that's supposed to be done?
