I know ive read in one of the guide books that some of the places on Pleasure Island allow kids. Dh and I are going to go alone one night, but im hoping to bring my little one at some point. He loves to dance and im betting he and I would have a great time dancing the night away. Have any of yall done this before?

You have to be 21 or older to get into any of the clubs. They do play music outside. There is alot of partying going there.

OH MY your kids are too cute!

Although children are allowed on PI (although not in most of the clubs) it is marketed as an ADULT NIGHT SPOT. Unless you would bring your child to a typical night club (drinking, smoking, hooking-up type of club) at home, you should leave them with the kids centers or a sitter instead of bringing them to PI. If you feel that you must bring your kid to PI, please do it early and leave by 10pm.

Really, I never thought about WDW as a hooking up type of place lol. I guess Birnbaum's was totally wrong. I wasnt asking if YOU felt it was morally wrong havng your child on Pleasure Island I was asking if the guide book was correct in saying some people bring their kids to Pleasure Island. :rotfl2:

OP yes I have seen children there before in the early hours dont sweat it :-)

Some people do, but I have never seen any children in the clubs. I don't believe they are allowed in most of them at all, and I don't believe they are allowed in any past 10 PM. I did, however, see MANY children passing through Pleasure Island with their parents doing some window shopping, dancing outside, and travelling between the two other venues. Keep in mind though that it seems PI changes its rules for what is allowed and where you can go for what price and who it includes more often than thunderstorms go through the area so there's no knowing what the restrictions or 'suggested" restrictions might be when you go. :confused3

to correct some posts:

Kids are allowed into some of the clubs. Motion is 18+ only, Mannequins is 18+ or 21+ depending on the night, so they can't get into those EVER. If they are with an adult who is 21+, They can get into BET Sunday through Thursday, Adventures Club, Comedy Warehouse & Rock & Roll Beach Club. They must be with ( with = touching/talking distance) someone who is 21+ at all times, or they will be removed from the club.

They do not have a time restriction - they can stay all night if the parents really want their kids there. However, it's generally not reccomended that they stay real late, otherwise they may learn some new words, gestures, and the truth behind what alcohol really does to adults. If you want them to learn that - your choice - however they can still stay....

Another thing to add...

I don't know when you're going to WDW, but right now (and it seems for a bit in the near future), PI is going through a major rehab. Most of the stores are closed (except for the Harley store...can't think of anything else), and as a result, most of PI is blocked off. It is very tight walking through PI at night (even at 3pm, as I discovered this weekend).

As other posters said, it's up to you. I've definitely seen kids at PI, and, particularly with the humor at the Adventurer's Club, I've seen them having a ball. Any of the bawdy humor at AC or Comedy Warehouse will probably go over most kids heads.

Just my two cents...hope you have fun!

Im looking foward to Pleasure Island. We are going in Jan - Feb. for
9 nights . Hopefully P.I. will be past all the renovations, it would have been nice to have been told about that when encouraged to by the extra passes.

This is great to hear . . . like I said, it seems like they change the rules there constantly and our last trip we were told that we could not bring our DD to Adventurers even though we were sure she would love it. Heck, I would have just loved for her to sit at the bar for a second. *grins evilly* That trip i think the only place they were letting kids into was the country line dancing club that I don't think is even there any more.

I have seen kids at Pleasure Island - but not many. However, the last time I went to PI it was still blocked off to where you have to pay admission just to get in period. Now that they are redoing the entire area and you only pay admission when you enter actual clubs - it sounds like there are more kids attending. PI is adult theme with a lot of alcohol (aka: a lot of people getting drunk and rowdy as the night goes on). I haven't read any of the guide books but my personal experience there is that I wouldn't take children. If I did, only very early evening. Again, that’s my personal preference but obviously it is your call to take your kids or not. Just note that it is an adult environment with alcohol and the comedy clubs can have more suggestive adult topics at times than you may wish for your children to be listening to.

I've seen a few kids (around 8 - 10) at the dance clubs and let me tell you, it was bizarre! It didn't bother me, it's just that I'm not used to seeing kids in nightclubs and I kept thinking someone was going to come over and make them leave. Of course no one did.

The thing is, the kids I saw weren't dancing or anything - they were just kind of hanging around watching the goings-on. I'd think they'd be bored more than anything else.

When we first went to WDW I was 11. We went to PI and were only there for a few minutes. I saw a shirt being sold at one of the stands/kiosk in the walking area that said something about sex and condoms and asked my mom and she said "Time to go!" I don't think they knew what it was before we went. It's very loud and most of it is fairly dark. The Comedy Club doesn't use any profanity but it is improv and alot of the humor is "adult" (but not to an extreme). Alot of locals go to PI (they offer season passes to only PI). They have bands playing in the street but I remember last time we were there it was some kind of rock band that was so loud and the place was swarmed with people. I like PI but mainly we just go for the Comedy Club and head home.

YOU may not, but remember it's an entertainment venue and there are LOTS of Orlando-area residents...

As far as kids in the clubs. We were in the Adventurer's Club this past week and it was getting late. There was a family there with young children, and the humor was getting VERY adult. Remember when a club has audience interaction, the performers can't control what the audience says. Well, when one of the performers mentioned that there were kids in the house, the other performer kind of suggested that if the parents did not want their children to hear such things, then they should not have their children out that late. The family left. :rotfl:

We saw a family with a little girl (maybe 7) in the Adventurer's Club not too long ago. Babalonia (the stone head on the wall) was joking with these two guys near the family. She actually had them do pelvic thrusts in a circle and they were right in front of the little girls face! The parents were laughing like it was the funniest thing they ever saw. The little girl was mortified. I though it was sad and the staff was trying to make a point. The point was not taken-they were sitting at the bar in the library later:)

While I havent brought my kids in the clubs, I have brought them into PI once, early in the night and everything was fine. They see/hear worse when we go to hockey games. ;) I wouldnt keep them there late into the night, however I have seen other children there at later hours.

If you bring kids to the Adventurer's Club, be prepared for the staff to make fun of you and possibly the kids. Last time I was there, Kiki the maid asked someone's child something along the lines of, "isn't it so cute that your mommy thinks it's a good idea to take you to a bar past your bedtime?"

The kid was mortified. The mom, not so much, they didn't leave. Even after someone else made a point of dragging the kid in a chair out of range from the pelvic thrusting.

Early in the night I don't think it's awful, but please, people get very drunk at PI and truthfully, people don't behave any better when kids are around past a certain point of the evening.
