We had the same question on our last trip...we ended up doing neither. I've *heard* that San Angel is just so-so. I'll be anxious to see everyone's comments...

While I enjoyed Marrakesh, I liked San Angel Inn much more. Get the Mole Poblano. :thumbsup2 My DH & DS also enjoyed SAI, but weren't fans of RM. I'd go back to either though, & drag them with me. ;)

I like both.
The expereince at Marrakesh is so much nicer, the resturant itself is just amazing to be in!

I am not a huge fan of either one, but Marrakesh is certainly the lesser of the 2 evils.

We find San Angel to be nothing less than disgusting.

We have always wanted to try mexico as it does look nice sitting under the "night sky". Just not sure we'd enjoy the food as our mexican food consists of faijata and taco's.

Marrakesh .. they do have some tasty kabobs and the brief show almost lets you think you are far away from FL.

It looks like most of you are leaning towards marrakesh. I was actually leaning towards san angel because of the atmosphere. Hmmmm.....

I agree with bytheblood. Neither is a good restaurant, but Marrakesh is probably "less bad" than San Angel.

I like the food at Marrakesh, but I really like the ambience at San Angel. It would depend on which I'm prioritizing at the time, I guess.

I used to love Marrakesh, but developed a wheat allergy and my favorite-- couscous-- is wheat. My 10 year old daughter learned the joy of being brave about food at Marrakesh.

Marrakesh is the only sit-down restaurant at WDW that I've been served wheat after speaking to the chef.

San Angel is comfortable and cool and the service and food are ok. We've always been able to get seating there without reservations-- even at 12noon. (While convenient, that should tell you something about food.)

We've been to San Angel a couple times, with near identical results.:(

We gave it a second chance, because of the nice setting inside of the Mexico building.

Both times, we had mediocre, overpriced food served by disinterested and inattentive servers.

If Marrakesh has good food or good service, it would probably be a step up from San Angel Inn.

I agree that the food at San Angel borders on disgusting, but I disagree with classifying Marrakesh as "the lesser of 2 evils". Our experiences at Marrakesh have been positive ones, although we haven't been there in 2 years so perhaps things have changed. We are going to go with the CS at Morracco this year, but would not hesitate to go to Marrakesh again based on our prior experience.

We went to the san angel in september. It was really nice. The food was great and our server was very attentive & couldnt do enough to help. We will definitely go again. It was just amazing sitting under the darkened sky in the candlelite. The kids loved it as well.
