I just purchased EBCI on our return Southwest flight in August. I did so that we wouldn't have to stop in the middle of our last MK day to worry about checking in at the 24 hr mark. I was told that they will automatically check us in 36 hours before our flight departs, so that would be 12 hrs before those who don't have EBCI. However, I do understand that this does not guarantee us to have a "A" boarding pass but we have a better chance to all sit together as a family.

For those of you who have purchased the EBCI, what was your experience?

Great move!

Do it every time whether its just my wife and I or the whole group of kids and grandkids.

Money well spent for sure..rest easy.

I almost always buy EBCI for the return trip. Have had A's and sometimes B's. Last Orlando trip, last summer, we were in the B20's, and not consecutive, but had no trouble sitting together. Just be willing to go further back in the plane, as most people take the first aisles of windows and aisle seats, with middle seat open. I would not worry, even if you are across the aisle. Last time, we were middle and aisle and aisle across. I am just happy we got a seat, as SW sometimes seems to have very full flights.

Have a great vacation.

I have only ever gotten the EBCI if I don't have internet access 24 hours prior, like when on a cruise. Outside of that, I don't have a problem planning the next day around checking-in 24 hours in advance.

I never buy EBCI and only once have not sat with my family (ended up one row forward). I never check in at the 24 hour mark... just whenever I get around too it.

Of course, I've never flown Southwest, so that might factor into it. :rotfl2:

I'm a big fan of EBCI - I did it for both legs of our upcoming trip. It helps that I only need to buy it for two people, but it's always nice to have one less thing to worry about! :thumbsup2

EBCI ... is a smart purchase.

yes, for 12 bucks a person it's a good move, I usually buy it for my return flights, otherwise I will forget to check in! You should be just fine with seats...

I seldom buy it for my flights to Orlando...but always get if for my return flight. Since there are usually 3 or fewer in our party, it's not a big deal to get three seats together...as long as we're in the A or B group.

It's actually $12.50 per person. That extra .50 adds up if you are purchasing for a large party.

I just laid out $100 for EBCI for my family of four (flights both ways). I will not be available 24 hours before my first flight, and don't want to have to worry about it on the way home. So I gave myself a $100 gift of not having to worry about it... twice!

Our trip is late in May and i just bought EBCI for our flight home so that I don't have to worry about the 24 hour check in. I debated for quite a while, but finally decided that it was a gift to myself so that I don't have to worry about checking in from the park.

We do this too. SW has best flight prices for our family (for our trips Buffalo to MCO) and with 2 pieces of luggage included in that price I have no issues paying EBCI to make my vacation that much more relaxing:-)
