October & May are great months (except for park hours). Nice temp & smaller crowds.

2. where do we fly into?
John Wayne/Orange County is the closest, though LAX will probably have better fares (Ontario is a little farther and between LAX & OC in price)

3. what kind of transportation to air port?
I prefer a rental car unless you plan to spend the entire trip at DLR. Side trips to grocery stores/ restaurants or other LA area attractions require a car.

4 do they have a dining plan?
Not sure on this, but I don't think so.

5, where is an inexpensive hotel?
A lot of people on this board think the world of the Candy Cane Inn. (I'm a local)

There's probably 3-4 days of adventures available in DCA & MK. For the other day(s), side trips to places like Knotts, Universal Studios, the beaches or the San Diego are (there is a Southern California Fun Pass with 3 days DLR & 2 days of other adventures to pick from a list of 5/6 things you might want to check out.

how far is LAX from the land? do you know of any transportation companys? what is the number to book with the land the offical Disney number?

We just returned from our trip yesterday

September is a nice time, right after Labor day. Weather is still Warm and sometimes can be hot.
2. where do we fly into?
Agree with the previous poster
3. what kind of transportation to air port?
We have used Supershuttle in the past, pretty reasonable if you don't plan on visiting anyother parks other than Disney, but if you think about something else, look for a rental car and get a map. People on this list can be pretty helpful with directions as well.
4 do they have a dining plan?
Don't know.
5, where is an inexpensive hotel?
Lots of them in the area, we just stayed at the Anabella hotel (behind DCA) I would check out the Disney site good neighboor list and then go to each of the hotels websites to find a deal. Most are walking distance from the entrance. Mousesavers.com also has a deal with HoJo, but I find that more a difficult walk across a busy street without a good light.

We have, but we are also Disney Folks and tend to take it easy on vacation, doing a little at a time each day, and we park hop alot. If you go in the off season, they only run Fireworks and major parades on the weekends (Friday, Saturday) and some of the shows are scaled back during the week days. Use your weekdays to hit the attractions and then weekends to do the shows and events. If you do plan to do Knott's berry farm, I would suggesting doing it first, because it does not have the same Magic as Disney. Fun rides at Knotts.

Disneyland does have a dining plan. I found it on the Disney vacation planning website, only now I can't find it again. Here are my notes from when I did find it:

Meal plans for 3+ days. The 3 day plan includes 8 meal vouchers for $86.95 adult and $64.60 child. The vouchers for adults are: 3 - $5, 2 - $10, 1 - $15 ($50 total for adult) and one character breakfast and one breakfast in the park. Child voucher is about the same only $40 total plus the breakfasts.
Call 714-781-DINE(3463) for reservations up to 60 days prior to date.

Yes, they have 3-day to 6-day dining plans that include character breakfasts, character lunches/dinners (based on the dining plan), breakfast in the park, meal and snack vouchers. There is a slight savings, but it's more of a convenience when budgeting for your trip.

Disneyland has two parks: The ORIGINAL Magic Kingdom, and California Adventure. WDW has four parks, plus two water parks... Disneyland is smaller, but has more attractions than any two parks combined at WDW. Some shows are different, some are similar. Some attractions are different, and some are similar, or exactly the same.

To answer your questions in no specific order:

We like to go in June. It's warm, but not usually too hot. Its crowded, but not in the morning, and we are morning people so that suits us. Plus, we are teachers/parents and this fits into our schedule. We like to take a cab from John Wayne--we are not into driving in LA traffic while on vacation, and with the three of us it is comparable in price to a shuttle. Plus, it takes us straight to our hotel, no detours for other riders. I think the meal plan is a rip off--the savings are small, and we never eat that much food. Can't help you on a budget hotel--to us, staying on sight is an integral part of the experience!!!!!

We were there in mid August and pretty warm but nothing like southeastern Washington State. We did the 21 hour drive since the kids will not fly after 911. We are a family of six, so the resort hotels are out, but we stayed at the Residence Inn Maingate in a penthouse suite so it is still very nice. The meal plans are a rip. Many places to eat in and out of the park..there are many places around the resort that deliver to the room at very reasonable prices. In 2006 we are going back in June not as crowded as mid August and mornings are great. Grad nite may be a problem but we are trying to find out when these happen and avoid them as best as possible.
Go to WDTC and look at all the Hotel/Motel options and current pricing and then www.tripadvisor.com and look at what people are saying about where they are staying. We found 4 days in Dis was not enough to do everything we wanted to and enjoy it at the same. Traffic in LA on the freeways is absolutely horrible, but doable. Also google transportation from LA and SNA, this will give you many options.

Good luck

Blackjack, where in Southeastern Washington are you from?

We are Kennewick-ians.

Grew up a Bomber, then a USC Trojan, now a Kennewick Lion. Kids refused to go to Southridge. I noticed a few month's ago that you were from Kennewick but did not have an e-mail addy.

Have a great one.

Small world. I was a Bulldog, then a Husky, daughter is a Brave.

We wouldn't go to Southridge either!

Have a good one yourself.
