Did you like it? Why or why not? If the park closes at 6:00, and the party starts at 7:00, do you have to leave then turn around and enter again?:D

We LOVE the Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. We went this past December and it was excellent. The first one we went to in December 2000 was FREEZING, but still great.

They do not make you leave and re-enter the park, they normally just try to move the guests into Tomorrowland or something, and the shops close to re-stock with Christmas Party exclusives:D

There is snow on Main Street USA, a family photo that can be taken in various spots around the MK, cookies and hot chocolate, 2 parades and an awesome Wishes fireworks show, and several Christmas Party night only shows.

We were at MVMCP last Dec also and loved it. It was pretty chilly though. We had a ps at LTT and were done with dinner at about 6:45. We had our photo done before the party actually started! One of the photo spots was in the Hall of Presidents area, so we were able to just cross the street and get it done right away. Then we walked down to Splash Mt. and BTMR and there was no one there yet. We loved the Christmas parade and the snow on Main St. We would do it again in a heartbeat. But I might be tempted to do one of the first parties, maybe in late Nov.

Is there some where I can buy tree ornaments that are not just disney world orientated? (No offence Mickey!) I could send those as gifts this year.

dvcfamily41801 - Waht a lovely photo. Wish I could get a nice one with my kids. The middle one never wants to smile. sigh..

Coming from the Caribbean my kids will probably feel the cold for sure! I was checking out fleece lined wind breakers on sale (I think, can't remember now!) at Old Navy. Do you think this would be enough if worn with jeans, sneakers and sweatshirt?

We went to MVMCP the first week of Dec and really enjoyed it. The Christmas Parade was simply awesome. They have some nice Christmas shows and fireworks. Definitely would recommend.
Only time we saw any long lines to the rides was for a few minutes when a show had just ended near a ride. We had our family photo taken near the end of the night when the line was very short.

Sandy Feet, this will be our first MVMCP . I puchased some of the fleece pull overs from Old Navy for my girls this winter. I think they may be the perfect layering item. You can ad a turtleneck or thermal T-shirt underneath and a light jacket over them for extra warmth.

Question for those of you who have been to MVMCP - is it better to make a PS for dinner in MK or eat somewhere else first and go to MK when the Party starts?

WE too did the party this year and had a great time. As far as eating, as goofy 4tink mentioned, LTT is the way to go. Ps's for this opens earlier than the 90 mark and goes fast. As PS around 6 or a little before will put you done just as the party starts. They will not make you head to adventure land with the other guest, so you are in prime location whrn the party starts. We too did the picture at the president place right at 7:00, saving time later. The LTT is a great character meal in its self. The food is served family style and is a traditonal thanksgivng type meal. VEry delicious and the character are fun but not so wild like some of the CM.
The lines at the party tend to be short, but we spent our time trying to catch as many of the Christmas shows as we could. Cookies and hot chocolate were an added treat though after LTT we were too full for much. You will be glad you went.

Thank you for your responses! We will be arriving the Saturday after Thanksgiving and staying a week! We definatley will be doing MVMCP during the week! :) I LOVE reading everything I can about it since we have never been during this time of year! :)

Dumb question but here goes - What is LTT?

So the plan should/could be:
dinner resv at LTT at 6:00
after dinner walk over to Hall of P for family photo
then?
where can i find info on where the parade is and the best viewing for the wishes fireworks?

It only LOOKS like I'm going into military planning mode!I'm just trying to get a rough idea of what to do so I can sell the idea of the party and the extra $ for tickets to the family banker.;)

LTT is Liberty Tree Tavern -- at dinner it is a character meal with the food is served family style. When we were there the characters were MInnie, Goofy, Pluto, Chip & Dale. It was really good.

After getting your picture done I would head over to Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain as they are both nearby and you should be able to beat most of the crowds coming from other areas of the park.

When can you buy tickets to the 2004 Celebration? Also, have the dates been announced for 2004?

Jordan's Mom, when can you make ps for LLT? Everything I have read says 90 days. I plan on making PS for the night we do MVMCP and want to be sure I call as soon as I can. Please help.

Thanks:wave2:

HappyGramma,

It seems that I made ours a little after the tickets went on sale. I'm thinking late May-June. You have to have tickets for the MVMCP before you can make your PS for LTT. They sold out really fast and It was less than a week into the reservation time period when I made and they were almost all gone. Wacth the boards closely and it will be posted by someone when they are open.

My TA said the tickets should go on sale in late April/early May. I don't know if the dates are announced prior to the sale of tickets. Oooh, now that I think about it, I can't remember if she told me that timeframe for MVMCP or CP, lol. Too much info floating in my head!!

Tickets to MVMCP includes admission right? I'm hoping the last night of the party is our arrival day. We wouldn't want to use one of our hopper days on arrival day because it'll be too short but we won't have to for MVMCP, right? Anybody know?

I forgot to mention that we also had the PS at Liberty Tree Tavern for 5:45 and it was perfect.

Sandyfeet - thank you about the picture:D We took it at the Wilderness Lodge Villas this year. We were very lucky this year with the weather for the party. I had on just a longsleeve Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party T Shirt and my DS had on a WDW sweatshirt with a Tshirt underneath and my DH had a fleecey shirt with a Tshirt under it. However, the first year we went, it was frigid we had on gloves and scarf and heavy coats and were still cold.

Most people will tell you to see the 2nd parade if at all possible as the first one is more crowded. We saw the first only becuase we happend to be right in Liberty Square and we knew we would be video taping the parade. Well my most FAVORITE spot in the Magic Kingdom is that little courtyard area outside of Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe, and that is in the background of our video:D Also, after the parade was over, we went over and sat in the sleigh in front of the Christmas Shoppe and watched Wishes and I had tears running down my face. I was in my most favorite of places with my family seeing incredible fireworks and it was awesome!

We really did not run around and see all of the holiday shows, we did Buzz Lightyear a few times and the Tomorrowland Indy Speedway, my favorite Peter Pan and The Many Adventures of Winnie The Pooh and just soaked in the atmosphere of the Magic Kingdom. My DH did Splash Mountain, I am still to chicken so my son and I waited for him LOL.

Then, the best part of all is still hearing the Christmas music as you walked down Main Street USA.

It is just the best!! Okay, I promise, thats all from me LOL:)

The last 3 years they have allowed admission after 4:00pm with just your MVMCP ticket, no PS required. You get a wristband upon entry. At 6:00pm the cm's directed partygoers to Tomorrowland, where the rides were still open for those with wristbands. They direct others out of the park. We try to arrive early to take advantage of the extra time. Last year we had a 4:20 ps at the Plaza Restaurant, we were done by 5:15 and still had some time before regular hours were over. We went over to Adventureland, then at 6:00 went to Tomorrowland where lines were short. Then at 7:00 we went over to Main Street to see the snow falling and buy the special LE pins. We went on Tuesday nights the past 2 years and it was not crowded (around Dec 10). Bought tickets the day before at our resort.
