I just made a PS for the Yachtsman Steakhouse, but DH saw the prices at allears, and wants to know if it is worth the money. Is the food worth the money? Please tell me your opinions.

Thanks

We thought it was outstanding! At the time we went, I had a 6 year old and a 1.5 year old. While it was very upscale, the children were treated wonderfully - even when they spilled a drink all over the table!

The steaks could be cut with a fork they were so tender.

Yes, it was very pricey, and not something we can afford each trip, but it was definitely worth it, and we will do it again sometime.

Oh, and we got the sampler dessert and it was just beautiful and delicious. I have a picture of it on our family website (that I haven't updated since April... ). http://home.earthlink.net/~pixy_dust/id6.html

Hope you all enjoy the meal!!!

wanna-b-Tink, thanks for the information. I just got the new DDE card, so I will get a 20% discount at least. We like the woodgrilled steaks, so we are hoping we won't be disappointed.

BTW, your children are adorable. :cutie:

We love the Yachtsman. It is a little on the pricey side, but definitely worth the cost! :D

We went for the first time in November. It was one of the most expensive meals of the trip but also one of the best. Tied with Flying Fish, which was also about the same price. We felt we did get our moneys worth in service and quality.

Unfortunately, we went here before Le Cellier. While i liked LC it just didn't compare to YS, and was noisier. Loved the baby spinach salad.

I agree, although we had eaten at LC first. ;) While I enjoyed LC and I wouldnt say it was bad at all, nothing really stood out as WOW! to me. After our meal at YSH I was raving about everything we had...and I still am, LOL!

YS is a top notch steakhouse in every sense of the word - food is wonderful, great service and a super wine list. Also, since we often stay at YC, it is a great place to go when we don't want to travel too far for dinner. However, like all top notch steakhouses, it is expensive (although, I believe, well worth the money).

As for Le Cellier - I have never quite understood the appeal. It's a nice enough place, food is decent and it is certainly more reasonably priced than YS. However, I have never been overwhelmed and don't consider this to be a real destination spot for me.

Let me say again that i liked Le Cellier and their Creme Brulee beat YS's samper hands down, but...

I read someone on these boards compare it to: YS is like a Ruths Chris or Mortons and Le Cellier is like an Outback or Bugaboo. While this is a little exaggerated it does fit.

Cam i read your review and i had forgotten about the bread and roasted garlic.mmmm now i'm hungry

Well I guess I'll be the odd girl out here. We tried it and didn't care for ir it. We felt the food and service were way below the level we expected considering the price.
