Please tell me about the week of July 4th

Hi all!

I know Magic Kingdom and the parks will be super busy on July 4, but what about the days before and after? We just got back from a trip last week and so we are used to the heat and the crowds to an extent, will the week of July 4 be terribly different?

2 years ago I flew in on the 4th (no parks) and all I can say is the morning of the 5th was a really good day to get up early and go to the parks as there were no crowds. After that it went back to "average" for that time of year.

We plan to go next year, because July 4th is a Thursday and we will have off the next day. I'm sure other people will have the same situation!

We went last year during the 4th of July week as a last minute trip and didn't have any issues. Then again, we normally go for Christmas week and love it Your main "issue" is going to be watching the fireworks on July 4th at the MK. That will obviously be the height of the crowds.

July 3 at MK will also be quite busy since the special fireworks will be shown both nights. Other surrounding days seem to be fairly typical summer days.

Fireworks on the 3rd/4th will change your definition of how packed the hub can get...but they are really cool to watch.

We were there last year before and after the 4th. Only big crowd we had to contend with was MK on the 4th in the evening. Very crowded then. Otherwise, typical summer crowds.

This. July 3rd and 4th in the evening in MK is nuts. Otherwise...all other days, all other parks, it's "business as usual" for summer crowds.

we will be there next week. We're staying at WL and I was wondering what would be a good plan to see the fireworks but not actually go into MK? Any ideas?
