Please tell me about the extra magic hours in the evening and how they work.

I was planning on going to the MK on the day that we arrive, but as luck would have it, our flight lands a little later than I was hoping. We have PS at California Grill at 7:30 and was thinking we could take advantage of the EMH after our dinner.
Will we still be able to get into the MK after it closes, or do we already have to be inside before the EMH starts?

we haven't been to MK for the EMH but we have been to AK for EMH and this is how AK did it (i do hope the same applies for MK): you have to be in the park when the bracelets are handed out. this happens about two hours before the parks close. i don't know if you can go to MK when it closes to get the bracelets. i'm not sure. but i would get there at a decent time to get the bracelets.

If you are eleigible for evening emh, you can arrive anytime during emh and still get your bracelet. You can get them earlier if youa re already in the park, but you can go through the turnstiles anytime until emh is over and get your bracelet.

We did EMH two weeks ago at MK. There were people coming in after the park closed to the general public. If you are concerned, you could always go over to MK before dinner, and get your wristbands then and then walk back over to CR. It all depends on when the park is closing as to whether or not it is worth your while to do EMH. If MK closes at 7:00, then EMH would go until 10:00, giving you maybe an hour or two to do stuff. But, if it closes later than that you should be golden. All depends on when you are going. When we went EMH ended at 2 a.m.!!

Thanks,
I believe EMH is over at 11 for the night we are going! I suppose i could go to MK as soon as we get to our resort, and then come back to the resort to get ready for dinner. This may be around 5 ish? Do you think they will hand out the wristbands that early?

We just returned home on the 5th. We decided to spend a late nite at MK.
We stayed till 2am. By 1:15 it was pretty empty. It was so neat to be there at this time. We cant wait to do it again!! :flower:

We are leaving in 13 days and my brother and I plan on staying in the parks until 1am or 2am if they close that late, it'll probably just be me and him our parents wont make it that late, but we r determined too, we're young 20 and 17 so we plan on taking advantage of staying up late!!! Just a question how was gettin bak to your hotel at 2am, we are staying at VWL and were thinking maybe the boats dont run that late, but im guessing theres bus? Just wondering how smooth that went oh and how crowded it was?? I've read some people who havnt liked it. We went to a Eride nite and loved it but im guessing its alot more crowded than that?! Thanks :earsboy:

Do you have stay at a Disney hotel in order to do the extra hours? I am soooo confused

Are the EVENING EMH's really 3 extra hours and not just one?

Here's a link to the information on WDW's official site:

Morning EMH is 1 hour, evening 3. You must be a guest of an official WDW hotel which includes Swan/Dolphin & Hilton Downtown Disney (I think). Remember you must have a park ticket to enter. If you do not have hopping privileges then you will not be able to enter if you visit another park that day. The entire park is not open but the web site lists all the attractions open during EMH.
