We wanted to go to FL, but not Disney :scared1:

After doing a some research, Jupiter seems like a nice town. I was able to rent a beach-front condo for October of 2012. I'm really looking forward to this change :goodvibes

Have any of you been to Jupiter? Any info you'd like to share? I'd like to try to find a few nice little restaurants, as well as some shopping.

Thanks!

They have a cool Seaturtle hospital wear they rehabilitate injured turtles. One time they had one that had lost a limb

the only thing I ever learned about Jupiter is that it was where Burt Reynolds lived :rotfl:

I live about 25 minutes from Jupiter.

You can walk up to the top of the Jupiter Lighthouse http://www.jupiterlighthouse.org/

There's an awesome restaurant you have to go to called Guanabanas. Try to go on a weekday. It gets packed on the weekends. http://guanabanas.com/

The Loggerhead Marinelife Center in Juno is a cool place to go. http://www.marinelife.org/

Busch Wildlife Sanctuary is one of my favorite places. I love to go there to see the panthers. http://buschwildlife.com/

They aren't in Jupiter, but my all time favorite places to shop are Downtown at the Gardens and The Gardens Mall. They are right next to each other in Palm Beach Gardens, not far from Jupiter. http://downtownatthegardens.com/ http://www.thegardensmall.com/

I'll come back and post more when I think of them.

I second the loggerhead marine center, it's such a great place and it's free! As well as Macarthur beach state park, it has a great boardwalk to the beach, a nature center and canoe and kayak rentals. Our favorite beach is Juno Beach which is just north of jupiter. Everything is a relatively short drive in Palm Beach county because of I-95. If you have children, there is the palm beach zoo, south florida science museum and lion country safari. City Place in west palm beach is a great outdoor shopping center, with great stores and restaurants. Jupiter/Juno is a very cute town, but be careful to avoid Riveria and North Palm Beach just a few miles south, it can get a little sketchy. Let me know if you have any questions about the area!

My inlaws used is live in Jupiter, Fl. I really enjoyed my visits there. One of our favorite things to do was to rent a pontoon boat, and cruise around Jupiter Island. It's where the famous people live. I believe that Celine Dion has a house there. Burt Reynolds used to. Tiger Woods is building one there. Some awesome house views from the weater. It's also a nice cruising area with lots of wildlife to see also - including manatees.

We also enjoyed driving through Palm Beach (the island) - checking out Worth Avenue. We took sight seeing boat cruise once to check out the homes/wild life from the water.

There's also a theater in Jupiter Florida. Here's a link to their website:

I enjoyed the beaches in Jupiter also. We were there during the turtle hatching season once and saw turtles laying eggs - and also some hatching with the little turtles going out to sea. It was awesome!
