Hi,
I already have reservations through Disney, but I have heard so much about Dreams unlimited and how they saved people money on their vacation. Is it possible that they can save me $ from what Disney is charging me? If so, how is that possible?

If I send them my information, ( to get a price qoute from them) they will already know that I have a ressie with Disney. Will they frown upon this? How does this work?

You may (will probably) find that the price you initial get from Dreams will be the same as you already have from Disney. But the difference is that as time goes by Dreams will periodically check your reservation to see if there are any new discounts available to your reservation, if there are, they will automatically apply them. That is not something you will receive from any other company. Dreams will also handle your PS requirements (saving you time and money) . You should also find that a Dreams agent should proactively suggest ways for you to get a lower room cost. I.E. ask if you have an annual pass as opposed to waiting for you to say that you are eligable for any sort of discount. They may inform you, for example, that by spending an extra $200 for ONE of your party to buy an annual pass it would qualify you for the AP rate on your room booking that saves you $500 on your room charges.

They are happy to take over an existing reservation and you just need to give them the information when you contact them.

If you have the time to call everyday for yourself to check these things, the knowledge of what discounts are available and how to ask for each and every one of them then you could probably get the lower cost yourself. But not everyone has the time and energy to make all those calls and obviously while they are only a small cost, each phone call adds to your total costs.

IMHO you lose nothing by transferring your reservation to Dreams. You have a decent chance that they will find you a lower price and if they don't save you money on your vacation they will at least save you time and money on any bookings of meals and activities that you want to make.

HI. I have used DU for the past 3 trips! Yes, they can save you money - here's how.

If you have a AAA membership, they can get you the AAA rate for a room only reservation if it's available. If you have an annual pass, they can get you an annual pass discount if it's available. If there are any codes released for the general public, your DU agent will be on the phone first thing to try and secure you a discounted room. Nothing is guaranteed, and you could do all of this on your own, however, what DU does is make all the phone calls for you.

If you have a reservation with Disney, what you would have to do if you like the quote you get from DU, is you'd have to cancel the ressie you have made before DU would be able to re-book. Disney doesn't allow you to hold multiple ressies at one time, unless, like in my case, you are booking more than one room.

I love using DU - and I highly recommend Shirley! - because I get the same rates that I could get through Disney, but I don't have to make any of the phone calls or search for the discounts. For my 2 upcoming trips, I had NO idea AP rates were being released. I got emails from Shirley (my DU agent) telling me she got us the resorts we wanted with the AP discount. I just love that I don't have to worry about making my dining reservations, either. DU does it all! Resort rooms, dining, parasailing (what fun!), fireworks cruises, etc.

Hope this helps you a little. Have a great trip.

I love your wedding pictures. I wish I had had a Disney wedding!!!

That is so not true!!! Dream Come True Vacations totally just did something like that for my neighbour who was already booked with the dining plan and then without even notifying her in advance - applied the discount code and then sent her an email that she was saving $400 on her upcoming trip!

Last year, I was already booked when the Disney At Par deal come out for Canadians and Dream Come True Vacations converted by ressie without my even having to ask.

Well, I am always on mousesavers, and I have a Disney Visa, and plan to get an AP this year before my trip. I already am doing all the "leg work" so to speak and it doesn't bother me because I like doing the research for my upcoming trips! It doesn't cost me anything to call Disney either because I alway use the 1-800 number. So are you saying that DU basically does all the research that I could do myself? I was just wondering if they ever come up with discounts that are not released to the public?
I don't know if I want to bother changing my ressies to them at this point.

By the way, how does DU save you money on PS dinning?

Another DU/Shirley fan here!!! I don't think there would be any savings on your PS's (AR's). But, I hate having to worry about getting that all important CRT time. And Shirley has gotten me the times and places I've asked for. Even got me that elusive IllumiNations Cruise.

As far as getting a cheaper room....I have an AP. I don't want to have to sit on the phone, on hold for an hour, waiting to book my AP room. I just give DU/Shirley what I need, and any discounts I'm entitled to, and they go to work. It is sometimes an issue with those of us who want immediate gratification though. I have been known to not wait until hearing from Shirley about what PS's she was able to get for me, and gone ahead and called for my own. Then, I had to go back and cancel them, since Shirley was able to get me the perfect times. What a dummy I felt like.

Last year, we checked into the Contemporary Resort the same day Hurricane Charley did. Shirley actually called to make sure we were all right!!! Now that's pretty good service.

My only regret is that now we own DVC and I don't get to use Shirley as much as I used to. But, when I add those extra days at a non-DVC resort on, I call Shirley and she gets the job done!!!! Thanks Shirley!! :cheer2:

Yes, so you don't have too. They provide a service, as do all of the other Disney specialist TA's. Yes, you can do it yourself, but if you don't have the inclination or the time, they all are great!

They may have your reservation switched to new discounts before you get a chance to, but as far as 'secret' discounts, I doubt it.

Again, this is a free service, they can't save you money on PS/AR dining - they save you time.
