My family and I have reservations for next June to stay at the Double Tree Suites in the Disney Springs area. I'd love to hear all about it. Is the transportation to all four theme parks and water parks reliable? Does it usually run all day? Is the walk to Disney Springs comfortable? Please tell me what to expect. I booked this hotel in case nothing better comes up. Until then, I'm keeping my open for better deals.

I like the Doubletree. The walk is about 15 minutes. I don't know anything about the transportation. I hear it runs every 30 minutes. We had a car so we didn't use it. The rooms are nice and the beds were great compared to other hotels we've tried. Also, we LOVE those cookies they give you at night. Just remember to ask for them when you come back to the hotel at the end of the day. We looked forward to those every night. Have fun!

Rather than repeat myself, I'll post links to very recent threads that discuss the DoubleTree Suites. More information can also be found by searching "DoubleTree Suites" using the search box above with "Search this forum only" checked.

Here are very short answers to your specific questions:
  • Is the transportation to all four theme parks and water parks reliable? - Theme park transportation is every 30 minutes like clockwork. I'm not a water park person, so someone else will have to answer that part.
  • Does it usually run all day? - Every 30 minutes to theme parks starting 1 hour prior to opening and 90 minutes after closing.
  • Is the walk to Disney Springs comfortable? - It's about 15-20 minutes to reach the Marketplace area. Bus transportation is provided between 6pm and 3am.

We stayed at the Doubletree. As previous statement says, it's about a 15 to 20 min walk to Disney Springs. Buses run about every 30 min.

We've stayed there. The rooms are spacious and we love the free cookies. It was in need of a remodel a few years ago (our last stay) and I hear this has been completed.

Buses are reliable but fill up quickly. You stop at 4 hotels on one bus so it makes for a long trip both ways.

Have stayed since remodel, suites are very well done!

The stops at the various hotels are very quick. These hotels are adjacent to each other. It's about 3 minutes to get from the Hilton to the Holiday Inn. And, it's probably 1 minute between the other three hotels on the "A" route. You'll spend less time making stops here than you would at a Disney moderate resort with multiple bus stops.

That said, the bus rides to/from theme parks from the Disney Springs Hotels are not short. The reason for this is that each route hits two theme parks. Having to detour to another theme park is annoying. That detour adds 10-15 minutes to the trip.
