Please tell me about CS about WL

As pp already said, Roaring Forks is very small. The food quality is good though. You are better off making reservations at WCC for breakfast. Roaring Forks is EXTREMELY crowded for breakfast and takes forever to get through!

We have stayed at the WL twice, the first time we had one meal (lunch) at Roaring Forks and it was terrible

The second time was this past Aug and we did breakfast there twice. The do have the best pecan cinnamon rolls and fruit yogurt parfaits. The hashbrowns are a nice touch but they do not serve sausage and I dont like WDW bacon.....

The place is super tiny, gets very crowded. Limited seating too and it is very noisy....not my favorite place to be....I would rather go TS or eat in the park.

The deluxes don't have food courts like the values and moderates. Since they have more table service restaurants, the CS eateries are very small and have very limited choices.

Is breakfast busy right at first? Maybe if we get down there right at opening??? What time does it start getting crowded?

Thanks!

p.s. We're also eating supper there right after we arrive....heard the pepperoni flatbread is pretty good.

My family seems to be the only one that likes Roaring Forks. We've never stayed in a value so I can't compare it to the food courts there.

They had very good sandwiches, made salads, good hamburgers, we shared the breakfast platters, we liked everything. It was close to the pool for quick refills. It was crowded in the seating area at times, but we just took our food to one of the outdoor tables which were always available. We prefer to sit outside anyway.

We LOVE roaring forks!! We have stayed at POR and French quarter and they do have more selection but more doesn't always mean better. We found Roaring forks to have very nice hot sandwiches and made to order fresh salads. We never ran into major crowds there and never had a wait like we did at the Mods. It was very efficient for such a small place. Very nice to be indoors and husband always went down to grab us coffee and something for B'fast. Nice to have him bring it to the room while we were getting ready. The balcony was so nice to eat out on. I would prefer any day to the other CS we tried at Resorts but we all have an opinion. We are just not hot dog, chicken finger, hamburger people.

While that maybe true for some Deluxe counter service locations like Gasparilla's Grill & Games and Captain Cook's, I think the Contempo Cafe is the exception when it comes to how big it is. Considering it took over the Concourse Steakhouse which was a table service restaurant so they have a fair amount of tables, although I will say their menu is not that big. However I think their menu is good enough the way it is.

RIP Concourse Steakhouse. I still miss you :sad1:

Why do you think that is? I love staying at the deluxe villas (have stayed at BCV) but, I love the food courts at the All Stars better. My husband is not a sandwich and soup man so he did not care for the deli at the BC. I was just wondering if all of the deluxe resorts are like this.

Yes, they are. Some have larger counter service areas than others, but none of the deluxe resorts have a food court similar to those at the value or moderate resorts. This is because most deluxe resorts have multiple table service restaurants. In the case of the stand-alone DVC resorts (AKV, BLT, SSR and OKW - AKV and BLT do not have counter service at all, they share with nearby resorts) it's because there are cooking facilities in the rooms.

We ate at RF a couple of times. The chicken strips were very good. We didn't like the breakfast that good. If we stay at WL again, and I am sure we will, we probably will not depend on eating at RF. I personally would rather just order room service and pay for it. We will have the DxDP on all future visits. TS food options seem to suit us more. It is not that we need "more" food, it is just that we don't like the processed type stuff served at most of the CS at WDW.

It was the only FC that we don't like so well. It is just boring and crowded. We just ate at the parks for CS.

I've eaten at Roaring Forks many, many times in the last few years. While I can't tell you that the food is necessarily better than the food courts at other resorts, I can't tell you it's worse. It's just average Disney CS food.

Because it can get EXTREMELY crowded during peak meal times, my suggestion is to try and eat either later or earlier than what is considered the norm.

Good luck! :thumbsup2

I don't have a problem with RF other than how limited the menu is. We got tired of it after several meals and started taking the boat over to CR to eat at the Contempo Cafe.

We like RF. It is small but if you go in during non-peak times you can breeze in and out. And they have sugar cookies that are to die for!!!

One morning I threw a load of laundry in, picked up a roll from RF and enjoyed sitting outside for a bit.

It worked well for us.

We went to Roaring Forks everyday for breakfast at various times of the morning. It was always busy...early or late!

Roaring Forks is ok. It is fairly small, so it can get crowded - and we were there in January - so not a peak month. We had pizza one day for lunch. It was fairly good. We also had breakfast there. I did enjoy the make your own parfait A LOT. You pick what you want in it, and a CM behind the counter puts it together for you. It was tasty and healthful.

As deluxe CS goes, it's WAY better than at Beach Club or Boardwalk, and similar, but not quite as good as AK.
