My family really wants to try this buffet. We have never been and would like some honest feedback. How is the food??? Do you feel rushed? Also I have my 5 year old niece going with us , so how is the character interaction?? I believe Cinderella and her friends will be there.

Any opinions would be great!:p

The two times I have been the character interaction has been good and we have only adults! This last time was two adult men and all of the Pooh and Friends Caracters came by.
1900 Park Fare is a bright and cheerful and pretty place. It is also bustling and loud. Service has been good.
The food is decent but not spectacular. I don't eat Prime Rib but they had ham on one of the trips. There were quite a few bland cassaroles and one really flavorful enchilada or tamale pie that no one else was touching. The salads are on par with other buffets. The bread seetion is good and the kids buffet had a lot of good "junk" food that I "tasted".
While it is a fun place it is not high on my list of "to do" restaurants.

We were there in March 2002. The room is very nice, though big and a bit loud. Character interaction was excellent. There was a good variety of well-prepared food and service was excellent. My wife made a comment to me while at the buffet concerned about her seafood allergy, and my daughter wanted some plain pasta. 2 minutes later the chef showed up at our table to see how he could accomodate our needs and he brought a dish of plain pasta for my daughter. The grown up food and kids food were all fine and we all enjoyed our meal. I would do it again and recommend it.

My family thinks the food is fine. Most of it is really good. Some is okay. Good Selection of entrees, veggies, salads, breads and desserts. Try the Strawberry Soup.
The character interaction is so good. Not rushed at all. However, it can get very loud when the Calyope (sp?) starts playing. The last 2 visits the loudness wasn't bad, that may be because we were in the back dining room. I recommend it to all that ask and I would recommend it to you.

Thanks for all the quick responses!!! I think we made the right choice! Again thanks for the feedback!
:p

I ate at 1900 Park Faire for dinner earlier this month and won't be back.

The character interaction was lousy ... it took a long time for the 4, count 'em 4, characters to make it around the mostly empty tables. Once at our table, they were nice but it took probably close to an hour to see them all.

The food was, well, terrible. The buffet was not replentished often and the food sat in the chilling in the "warming" trays. We were there for oven an hour and I never saw the tiny bit of crusty bread pudding replaced. The soups were OK, but the rest was farily bad including the prime rib. Yuck.

I would pick Chef Mickey's or the Crystal Palace over 1900 PF anytime in terms of food and characters. If you really want to see a princess, go to the Epcot Princess Breakfast in Norway.

I would love to hear more comments about this dinner... ;) I'm really confused whether we should hope for one of the princess breakfasts' or try this dinner at GF, during an afternoon that a park closes early??? We will have 3-2yo's with us... HELP! :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

We went back in early 2001 when this was the Villians dinner. We didn't think it was too loud and the character interaction at the time was pretty good.

The food was decent..not the best but it is a buffet. IMHO the food was better here than at Chef Mickey's. We both found plenty to fill us up.

I'm with Robin. We went in February of this year and will not do it again. CRT and the Norway breakfast are far superior for character interaction. The food, while not horrible, wasn't what we expected from 1900 Park Fare and the price.

My DD was alone at the table for just a short while and that's when Cinderella and the Prince came by. I started back to the table as soon as they arrived and they were gone by the time I got to the table. They never came back. I would not waste another evening there.

I hope that Sandi and Robin's experiences are flukes. We gone 2x - once when it was Mickey and Minnie (ONLY - and we were happy with that. :) ), and in 2001 when it was Pooh and Friends.

My family has always been very happy with the character interaction AND the food. (I myself thought that the food at Hollywood and Vine better than the Park Fare on our last trip, but that is NOT saying that I thought that it was BAD.)

We are planning to return in a few weeks. Not so big on Cinderella, but my family really likes eating at the GF and likes the food at the PF.

Good Luck! (For both of us! ;) )
