Please talk to me about magic bands

We are travelling this week. We are staying offsite, and I have my tickets already (card style and some I am picking up at will call)

I'm guessing a magic band is like the new KTTW card? Do we need to buy some? Do we want to buy some? I was just at WDW last may ad it is like a whole new world ha ha with magic bands and FP+

Well after you've linked your tickets to your MDE account you can make FP+ reservations without having bands. And your card ticket will do the same thing as the bands for entry and FP+ redemption. If you want the convenience of the band for park entry and FP+ redemption you can buy bands in WDW and link them to the MDE account along with the ticket.

Whether you want to is purely up to you. Hope you have a great trip!

We stayed on property and I loved the Magic Bands. It was so easy to link our credit card to them (for my husband and I) so we didn't have to worry about carrying money around with us in the parks. It also was super easy to have everyone's band on their wrist with nothing to fiddle with when we entered or did FP+. However I don't think I would purchase them since there are enough expenses with a Disney trip without adding another one.

Can I ask a question about magic bands? I'm so confused about them and MDE. We have three rooms on site for 11 people, half are under age and can't set up MDE. Do all the adults need to set up a MDE?? We booked ADRs for everyone and have park hoppers too for all. So far 3 of the 6 adults haven't setup MDE at all and I don't think they will bc they frankly don't understand computers. But I know they will want FP. Also I set up my MDE and then I set one up for my husband and now he is listed twice in my plans? Also I had to add my underaged children to my plans so how will they get FP when they aren't linked to anything??
