Please share your packing lists!

Hi everyone,

We are getting closer to our trip at the beginning of Oct. It's me, DH, DD- 9 and DS 7 (will almost be 8 when we are at Disney).
Staying at CR for a week.

Does anyone have any packing lists to share? I'm looking for a list that includes other things besides how many clothes and toiletries to bring. We are a t-shirt and shorts kind of family.

We do not want to over pack but I will not be doing any laundry either (if I can help it!)

I just don't want to forget anything important!

Plastic garbage bags. Make sure everything you pack is inside the plastic bags and the bags are closed. Just in case your luggage is sitting on the tarmac in the rain for a while. You'll have nice dry clothes when you arrive, and you can use them for laundry bags during your stay.

I love the Ultimate Disney World packing list from WDW prepschool. I printed it out and then just blacked out things that were not relevant. Honestly, I can not imagine forgetting anything when using this for a reference, it is fantastic!

One thing I always bring is a little book light. It's very useful when the kids or hubby is asleep and you need to do things, see where you are going!

Personally, I pack by making an outfit for each day and then ensuring I have at least 2 backups pp. I lay it all out on the bed - this is the way I make sure I have enough shirts, shorts, etc.

Also, shout wipes limit the need for emergency washes!

Zip lock bags, travel size laundry soap (never know when you might need it) glow sticks, camera and battery charger.

I second the ultimate Disney World packing list! I usually make my list off of that one.

We do not want to over pack but I will not be doing any laundry either (if I can help it!)

Laundry is so close to the pool at many resorts, you might want to rethink that as it can really save on baggage fees. It's really easy to fit in travel soap for this and usable at home if you didn't need it.

I just don't want to forget anything important!

- Enough ways to charge all your electronics overnight. Power strips, multiple device charges, etc. Plugs can be at a minimum when you have a family of devices to plug in.
- Plan for the worse and have medical cards, numbers to pharmacy and your families doctors with you.
- Advil or similar, your going to be sore.
- Plastic Bags that close (ziplock), put things that can't get wet in them when in the parks. You will get wet at some point, it's not always a ride it happens.

- extra socks...they take forever to dry in Florida no matter the season.
- Ziplock bags in gallon, quart and sandwich sizes.
- small folding storage cubes...these are great to drop receipts, keys, change, magic bands, etc. into when you come back to the room. It helps to keep the room so much neater.
- 2 swimsuits for everyone...nothing is worse than trying to put on a wet suit.
- plastic clothespins to hang thins on the line in the bathroom.
- a nightlight with motion detection to plug into the bathroom outlet...a much softer light in the middle of the night and goes out after you are back in bed.
- of course you can't go wrong with WDW prep school packing list. I saved it to my Word docs and edited it to fit my needs.

I totally agree! We use packing cubes, but surround them all in large trash bags. I've seen SOAKED luggage before.

Also, we always do laundry on vacation. I get up early, so will do a load early in the morning sometimes. Also on an afternoon break, while others are either at the pool or resting for an hour. I bring laundry pods and dryer sheets. No way I could go a week without doing laundry, except last summer in Korea when we didn't have facilities, so we had to totally pack a ton.

I had all of these except the nightlight. And full sets of extra clothes for 2 days - underwear and all - because something will happen sooner or later that you end up soaked to the skin.

Buy a battery pack for your phone. It will allow you to charge your phone in the parks easily.
I also make sure I have a small container of Tylenol, Benadryl, and Motion sickness meds to take into the parks.

Also pick a scent of bottled Hand soap ( so you don't have the use the bars of soap) and a plug in. When you get back home and use the same scent it takes you back to your trip.

I also have a waterproof case for my phone.

I learned about the pop up laundry hamper that you can get at $1 Store. Put dirty clothes into it & then put the whole thing into suitcase at end of your visit. If things are damp, it's mesh so they don't get as musty.

In our backpack for the park - Frogg Togg cooling towels in ziplock bags; spare ziplock bag to put phones, camera, etc on water rides; bandaids and moleskin; hand sanitizer; sunscreen and chap stick; autograph book and Sharpie, lanyard and pins; extra socks if you are not wearing sandals if forecast calls for rain; ponchos (easy to find from dollar store); pennies and quarters for coin presser machine; stain stick; kleenex pack.
Something I haven't seen mentioned - some people buy those shoe holders that attach to the door with pockets for bathroom toiletries or to corral small items like sunglasses, keys, etc in a room short on counter space. We always stay in a 1 or 2 bedroom DVC unit so we don't really need it, but I used one on a cruise and it was great to have everything in one location so I wasn't wasting time searching for stuff.
