Please share your favorite resort stories

I know the first time I came to WDW I really really didn't want to be there. I didn't understand why people would come and spend a week at a theme park.

Boy was I wrong!!!

I remember walking outside CBR and seeing a hot air balloon flying overhead and all of a sudden I understood the attention to detail that Disney was using.

I really felt like I had escaped from the world when I stayed at CBR.

Please share one of your resort stories. I am looking forward to reading them.

Last April we were supposed to spend our last night at Pop, and after standing in the crazy long check in line, when we got to the counter they had upgraded us to POR! We were psyched!

In November 2002, we got engaged and we staying onsite for the first time. My brother had spent a day with us and had to buy park tickets at the front desk at WL, where we were staying. He mentioned that we had just gotten engaged, and was trying to get us some sort of upgrade (which we didn't want or need) but it was Super Soap Star weekend anyway, so there wasn't anything available. Anyway, when we got back to our room at the end of the night, there was a balloon, 2 chocolate covered mickey pretzel pops, and a card from Mickey and Minnie congratulating us on our engagement! It was such a cool surprise!

Hmmm. Its probably tied....

1) 6 Years ago we stayed at the WL over our son's birthday. While checking in I mentioned his birthday, I think in the course of lobbying for our room request, which had already been granted (we had a view of the MK fireworks). Well we went upstairs and were unpacking when there was a knock at the door. It was balloons and a birthday card from Mickey and the gang. Very cool suprise.

2) Just last month we woke up a bit earlier than the wake up call, so I was in the shower when my son came in saying "Mom, Mickey called me, but Stitch was playing on the phone lines!"
