DH and I have the dining plan booked for next December. I'd like to hear about people's experiences sharing adult meals on the dining plan. What restaurants do you (or not) recommend for sharing? One we were definitely planning to share at was Alfredo's. We really want to try the food, but are worried we won't like it, so we decided to split a meal and save a table service credit. Then I got it in my crazy head that if we split most table service meals we could do twice the restaurants! I'm thinking of on some days splitting a table service lunch and dinner. Any thoughts? :confused3

DD-14 and I split meals in Aug. There was so much food that I am really glad we split meals. Places where we shared:

Le Cellier
Spoodles
50's Prime Time Cafe
Sci-Fi Diner
Teppanyaki

Every server was great about us sharing.

I honestly don't think it matters if you are on the plan or not, and want to share.

This past summer DH and I were both still recovering from a bad cold/sore throat thing and did not have much of an appetite throughout most of our trip. We shared meals at these restaurants:

Cinderella's Castle (dinner)
Kona Cafe (lunch and dinner)
Liberty Tree Tavern (lunch, of course)
50's Prime Time Cafe (dinner)
Sci-Fi (lunch)

Then we went back a couple of months ago and did have the Dining Plan and shared a couple of meals:

Plaza Restaurant (lunch)
Kona Cafe (breakfast)

None of the servers seemed to mind at all and most were extremely pleasant about it and brought out extra plates. A couple of restaurants even split the meal in the back in the kitchen so the food was brought out on 2 plates.

The amount of food that is served as one portion at restaurants these days can easily feed 2 fairly hungry people! :earboy2:

Did I misunderstand or can your share a meal at the charecter meals? Thanks!

You can't share at character meals or buffets.

We were on the dining plan in October and shared most of the counter service meals. We also each ordered something different at the table service meals and shared those without a problem. It's a lot of food and by the end of day nine we were done eating. If I were going to do it again I'd probably do some 2 credit TS so that I could rest on a day. It was wonderful though not having to worry about cost.

DD is 5, since we were on the dining plan she and I shared an adult breakfast ( usually the King Creole at our resort) and an adult lunch (if we were hungry) At dinner she did eat her own kids meal, I would have felt a bit wierd splitting plates with her at an table service meal and at 5 she didnt appreciate veal or other items I was eating. She wanted her Mac and cheese! Flame away, untill disney designates in their system I would use the adult food definately for c.s. for lunch and dinner. Little kids dont eat enough (too excited) to get just one cs and ts a day. We didnt use many snacks, so we got 11 mickey crispy bars from the resort before we left. Good luck and enjoy your trip!

We (me, DH and DD14) are going in November. We will have 5 days of pooled credits. We plan to do CG and Citricos for 2 of the dinners and I have shown the menus to DD already and she seems to feel she can eat our 2 appetizers and a dessert from our 2 meals, thus saving 2 ts credits from each. We also plan to do Bomas for breakfast, CP for a lunch and Spoodles for another dinner. Splitting at least some ts meals will give us a chance to eat at more TS places than just the 5 credits. Also thinking about possibly paying oop for daughter at either Boma or CP thus saving another ts credit. From what Ive read on the boards splitting is not a problem at all, and there does seem to be alot of food.

We just returned and we had no problem sharing adult meals on the dining plan. We didn't share at Ohanas - a buffet, and at Hoop-Dee-Do - an all you-can-eat dinner show. We shared at:

Concourse Steakhouse
Le Cellier
Teppanyaki
Marrakesh

We also shared all counter meals - breakfasts and lunches.
