Hi All,

I am talking one of my single brothers to Disney next year, as well as one of my DD new HS friends.....neither have ever been to Disney before so I was playing with getting a Boardwalk view but wasn't sure if it was worth the extra points? We will have a 2 BDRM

Could you share with me your thoughts and/or pictures of your views would be fabulous in helping me with my preferred vs BW view....

Thanks Much,

Only have a handful of photos. We've only been there twice. These two pics are from 2000

We really love being able to walk to epcot. And like the more adult atmosphere of the BW pubs, etc.

We own at Beach Club Villas, where the location is great, but the views "vary". But I stayed in Boardwalk Villas once with a Boardwalk view. It was a studio, and we slept on the pull out couch. We were in the "Crest of the Wave" section. We realized if we put the pillows on the bottom of the bed, we could lay and see the Epcot ball as we drifted off to sleep. MAGICAL!

I have to look for some pictures, they are on my older computer.

Treated DD (left) and friends to college spring break last year. I hear it was a great time had by all.

Hi All,

Could you share with me your thoughts and/or pictures of your views would be fabulous in helping me with my preferred vs BW view....

Thanks Much,

There is NO difference in cost between a Preferred and a Boardwalk view. They are exactly the same price. The only difference is that the Boardwalk View is a request that you can make when you reserve and it is GUARANTEED. Just ask when you make your reservation. There are not as many Boardwalk Views, so when they are gone, they're gone.

There IS a difference in price between the Preferred/Boardwalk and the Standard View rooms. The Standard View rooms cost less (mostly overlook the front drive). If that's what you want you need to reserve at the 11 month window. Because they cost less they go fast. As with the Boardwalk View, when they're gone....

loved the BW view, first time as DVCers and it was great, if the kids say something entertaining they woul;d want to run downa nd watch the show(with us running after them), one night there was a loud group, other than that I'd try for BW view again

Thanks Everyone! It was exactly what I needed but if anyone else would like to share thoughts/photos please do.

Much Appreciated,

Great pictures Jade1 of boardwalk views. We virtually always get boardwalk view (only time we haven't is when we have reserved late). It is the best view at BW and the best at any WDW DVC resort.

Thanks, we are about the same. We have only been moving to BWV at 7 months if BW View is available-it's just too good to pass up IMO. But otherwise we stay with BCV-sometimes VWL.

I thought sleeping over the Boardwalk was a bit much. Too noisy for us. But I loved having a quiet room and visiting the Boardwalk during my waking hours.

I could believe that. Although it does depend on when you sleep. For us it's not an issue because the kids are much older and we always close a park and often hit EMH somewhere after that. So calm and beautiful arriving at the BW/BC area around 1AM or 2AM-oh its quiet then. These are from 3AM last June (except the one with the boat-they were asleep as well by then).

jade1...your shots are absolutely gorgeous. I think we have had similar villas. I had one, just last August, a one bedroom, way at the end of the hall, just 3 or so doors down from the Attic room.
I have also had a two bedroom, 5th floor, above Big River Brew. The only thing that bothered me about either of those two villas was that constant bell ringing from the ball toss game. But, it did stop around 11 each night. I'm a pretty light sleeper and the foot traffic on the boardwalk didn't bother me much. There were a few instances where the late night (okay, early morning!!) Jellyrolls patrons were leaving and they were a bit rowdy!!!
I've had a villa overlooking the quiet pool and Community Hall, with the canal to my left. About 4 doors from the end of the bldg. Very quiet and peaceful. Loved watching the Friendship boats come and go.
I have also had the exact same studio overlooking the Village Green, over Muscles and Bustles, on the top floor. I had a terrific view of the boardwalk and SE off in the distance. That was a preferred view villa.

ok, you wanted thoughts (we're BW view addicts ~ is there a support group for that? ;) ):
IMHO, there is nothing in all of WDW like a BW view. waking up to the silence of the BW, sitting on the balcony in jammies, sipping coffee, and little by liitle the "world" changes ~ grey sky gives way to blue streaks reflecting in the mirrored lake, the light thumping of joggers on the wooden planks, the scents of the bakery wafting across.....
so sloooowly the metamorphosis takes place. you can hear the squeaking of the laundry carts, giggling children accompanying their parents to the bakery, soft tooting of the ferries...
& the sun finally lighting up the sky so you can fully appreciate your view of the romantic gazebo nestled by the lake's edge, the elegant Yacht Club & Beach Clubs, glimpses of spaceship earth & World Showcase.
& if waking up to all of that wasn't enough :confused3 , you can sit on the balcony in the evening (great time to have a glass of wine, IMHO), watching as people try their abilities at tossing basketballs into hoops and lobsters on pots & the ecstatic squeals when they win, listening to the laughter of friends & families trying to navigate surrey bikes, the delicious aromas coming from big river and spooodles, the people looking up at you in awe, wondering how you got to be so lucky to be there.........
and to end your day: your private show of Illuminations, the dazzling fireworks lighting the night sky, the music drifting over to met you....you can sway, finger conduct, sing, or just watch ~ it's your BoardWalk View :cloud9:

btw, i do have quite a few BW view photos, but i don't think they can depict the magic & immersion........hopefully, i gave you some idea of what to expect :)

Jade1-- What awesome pictures!!!!!!!!!!! You need to send them to the editors of Vacation Magic!

Great pictures. :thumbsup2

We are going to boardwalk in a few days as first time dvc owners. We never saw boardwalk before so these pictures were a great preview. :dance3:

Thanks :santa:

DH and I stayed BW view on 11/30 and 12/1. Studio, #2037. Couldn't have been more perfect! Here's a panoramic I put together from our balcony. I wish my night shots were as fantastic as those previously posted!!!

We had a wonderful boardwalk view 1BR in October. I thought it was very cool that we could see SE from the jacuzzi! This photo doesn't really do it justice but will give you an idea. At night that view was magical! ETA: We also had an amazing view of Hallowishes from our balcony!
