I have read on these boards that the first one to ride Splash mountain in the morning gets a certificate and a free photo, the first one in Tinkerbells store can let Tink out of her box, be at rope drop for Toon Town and possible be walked in hand by hand by one of the characters, the first one on Maelestorm(sp) gets a hat of some kind? I'm not sure if any of these are true or not. Any way I was hoping to start a thread with any info on being the first to do or ride something in any of the parks and if you get anything for doing it!

PLEASE SHARE!!!:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

I know if you are on the first raft over to Tom Sawyer's Island you get to look for the paintbrushes they hide there.

Turn in a paintbrush to the CM on the raft and you get a ticket for front of the line access to SM or BTM (like a fastpass).

Last November my DH and I were the first ones on Splash Mtn. and we did get a certificate and a free photo. The CM also walked us over to BTMRR. We went in the back way and were allowed to choose any seat we wanted.

This past July, my DH, DD, and I were the first ones on BTMRR and they also gave us a certificate and took us over to Splash through the back way and we got right on it without waiting.

The certificates have your last name and says something about being the first family on "whatever ride" on "date". The certificates are great for a scrapbook but we really like getting to ride the 2nd ride without having to wait.

P. S. Just wanted to add that we didn't run either time. Just walk behind the CMs who lead the way.

Is the paintbrush thing at Tom Sawyer Island just for the first guests? Last year we rode the raft over to the Island well after opening and the raft operator told us about the brushes and the front of the line passes.

We never did find one. And we reeeeeally looked. :(

Oh and I just thought of something - - -

In Liberty Square, in the Christmas shop, the first child that visits for the day gets to decorate the Christmas tree. Their name gets put in the sign on the tree (and remains there all day), they get a certificate and a free personalized ornament. The ornament is a pearl white ball mickey-shaped ornament.

I only know about this because my DD was chosen one day on our trip last year. It was a nice surprise!

my god daughter found one of the paint brushes you do get a ticket for up front on big thunder mountain. It was early in the morning but not the first to go over.

What a neat concept! (bump)

Wow! I never knew about any of these "first" perks until I started reading these boards! Its amazing all the little info you find out here! :)

On our last morning in WDW my 9 y/o dd and I just had to visit MK one last time. She had never gotten to Ariel's Grotto and that is a must do! We had just been talking about the fact that we hadn't seen any Pooh and friends characters the whole 9 day. We were at ToonTown for rope drop and who comes bouncing over to my dd? Yep. Tigg'r. He danced down the street to their photo spot. Very cool. So I guess that's one 'first people in' perk that I had never seen in past visits. Each one of the 3-4 characters took a child with them.

Friend, her DH, and DS were actually 2nd in line at the gate, but the 1st family left the line for some reason. Then here comes a couple of CMs who made a fuss over my friends who are now first in line. They asked what ride they wanted to go ride all by themselves. They chose Buzz....and off they went. They rode Buzz all alone, the 3 of them in one "car". Afterwards they gave them a certificate to come back any time that day and go to the front of the line. Melanie

I know things change, but when we were there in Jan 2001, we went to MK for Early Entry. Main Street was open and we were in the Castle, waiting for Fantasyland to open. My kids had their Guest of Honor badges with their names - and they were asked if they wanted to open Fantasyland for the day. They tossed pixie dust and waved a flag, and we got a "go to the head of the line" for any Fantasyland attraction.

Can't wait to see if we can be 1st for something this time!

I arrived at the Magic Kingdom early on Friday September 5th 2003.

I saw the 8.45 opening show - the park opened at 9am.

I love Dopey and I saw him on the train. After the show finished I went under Main Street Station as I thought the characters would have to walk down there to leave.

I saw a few characters come out (a lot of people just ran towards Cinderella's Castle for opening). I walked further under the station and saw Dopey hiding behind a wall - putting his hand to his mouth and giggling. There was a CM there but they were holding PInnchoo's hand. I went mad and screamed 'DOPPEEY' - I adore him loads. He kept looking at me and giggling.

I took a lovely photo of him on his own. Then he held out his hand (which i was not expecting) and we walked out from underneath Main Street Station into Town Square - where his photo spot was. I was walking hand in hand with my favourite character Dopey! (As I was by myself I had no one to film the moment but what a memory).
While we were walking I asked him where i could get some breakfast - he thought about it and pointed to the sweet store in town square. I also told him to be careful as the floor was a bit wet from the previous night's rain.

I think a few people looked over at us as we walked - maybe they wasn't sure if i was a CM or not. I think even a CM looked over too.

I got him to his spot and had a lovely picture taking with him and he kissed me first!

It was an amazing moment. It really set my day up for a day at MK!

I think that as the park had just opened and as it wasn't high season - I was able to walk him to his spot as opposed to having a CM walk with him and being pounced upon by everybody.

Also he was not out for long - not for the full 20 minutes anyways. It seemed like five minutes later he had disappeared

Fantastic.

Do they do these special "first one" things in the other parks, also? The only park I'm planning on getting to early is AK. Wondering if they did anything like that there..my boys would love it!

I've seen Mickey ride on Dumbo first thing int he am. My DD didn't get to ride in the same elephant as Mickey, but they were on the same ride at the same time! Great to watch! It's really like seeing a celebrity. I was soo excited!!!

Heres my story
on one of the days my family dn i stayed at the BCV we decided to head over to teh worldshow case early ,since we been there a couple of times before that and heard prevously that they gave out something for being first inline for maelstrom(sp) we decided to try. the first time we got tere about like 15 ins b4 the ws opened and figured no one would b ther . wel we we wrong. they had this big celcbratio n wiht some of the cm and vikings, so we decided to try again teh next day dn try earlier.
the next day we get tehr an hour earlier so my brothere notcing no one was in line yet ran up ther .so me and my brotehr waited for an hour jut to have a cm take doen the rope and let us on nothing else. So at eh end of the ride we had to ask if we got anything and recieve a certifatate saying we were first in line.

In 2000 we were at the rope to Tomorrowland at MK waiting for EE to begin. We were chatting with the CM and she happened to say "you're going to get a view of Tomorrowland like you've never seen before". We really didn't take note of what she had said as anything out of the ordinary but a short while later she said to us: "You four and only you four (meaning me, DD, DM & DN) step over the rope." We did as we were told & she said "follow me"...so we did. ;) She explained that we were going to be the first family to ride Space Mountain that day. Now I was a big chicken & was not sure if I wanted to ride Space Mountain again. The last time I did was on my honeymoon in 1982 and it was the scarriest experience of my life. Well if we were getting such royal treatment, how could I back out. ;) So we went in and it was really cool...we walked straight through...seeing where everyone would be lined up shortly & got on the ride...just us. :)

As we were getting off we could see everyone rushing for the ride. :) The CM told us to be sure to go to Guest Services before we left the park to pick up a little souvenir of our experience. Well when we did we were thrilled to see a beautiful color certificate. Unfortunately, it had our family name on it. My mother & nephew obviously have different names so we asked Guest Services if we could get one for each of them. They said "no problem, where are you staying?". The next day we received the extra certificates at our resort. A very special & magical moment at WDW. Here's a pic of the certificate if anyone would like to see it (there are other photos on the site as well but they aren't that great...I scanned them quickly from photos so the color is not the greatest...but feel free to browse).
