My husband is on his way to the emergency vet right now with my 10 year old Corgi mix Sebastian. He was just hit by a car. His left eye is protruding and he is just making the most awful groaning noises. I feel just terrible for him. It was our fault. We haven't had the time to fix our gate and he has wandered out before. It's raining out and dark and I don't blame the driver at all. I just wish he wasn't in so much pain. I know the outlook isn't good and it just makes me sad that I'll have to explain that to my children in the morning. I just needed a minute to calm myself down and stop bawling before I tuck them in for the night.

Oh my gosh I'm SOOOO sorry I've lost a couple pets before that have been hit by a car and I know it's really painful to see them in pain. Senidng lots of prayers your way for the entire family.

My husband just called. Sebastian is stable right now, but there is not much that they can tell until more tests are run. It'll be pricey, the tests alone are going to be around $900, but my husband feels so guilty about not fixing our gate that he is willing to do just about anything. Since Bashy is almost 11, we'll have to wait to see if it would be wise to put him through surgery if needed. I just don't know what we'll do if it comes to that. My almost nine year old knows something is going on. She's already come downstairs a couple of times to ask were Daddy is. I really hope that these tests show that he will be okay. Thank you, thank you, thank you for giving me an outlet for all of these emotions.

Ironically, the people that I would call right now would be my mom and sister... and they're both in Disney World today!
