After almost 2 yrs of reading, researching and hoping I finally am taking the plunge into DVC. I have sent in the deposit and signed the contract for a resale! Saw perfect points with perfect use year and it didn't hurt that there were banked points. Just waiting for Disney to say "let her have it!" :) We just got back from the BC and I thought oh my gosh what have I been doing! DVC for me! Please keep your fingers crossed for me! I have been having so much fun playing with the points calculators and planning trips for like the next 5 yrs! :) It is very addictive! :) :) Faxed in the contract last Wed. How long do you think it will be before I hear the words I am hoping to hear?

Fingers crossed and pixie dust is headed your way :)

P.S. It's about time!! :rolleyes1 Good luck to you!

Pressing my thumbs for you (German version of fingers crossed! :) )

I'm still waiting for the phone to ring on my first plunge, waiting to hear if I passed ROFR.

Best of luck, future neighbour!!!

First of all, congratulations!

To answer the above questions, figure 3-4 weeks from the time the title agent actually submits the contract to Disney for the ROFR decision. The title agent will hear first, and depending on the agent, there may be a week delay in them telling the realtor -- so check with the title agent first for ROFR info.

After you clear ROFR, plan on another 3-4 weeks for closing. If you use expedited closing, you might shave a couple of weeks off that time lag.

After closing, it will take 5-10 business days for your account to be fully in the system with all the points properly recorded. (Often, you go "in the system" in name only one day, and accounting puts the points in the following day.) You check that through DVC member services. If you don't have your member number, etc, don't let that deter you. MS can give you that info, as long as you provide them with the appropriate security info (name, address, social, date of birth, etc.)

Be sure to double-check the final result DVC has against your contract and closing statements to be sure everything is correct. If there are any discrepancies, it will be much easier to correct them at the outset than later.

jiggerj,

I have my fingers crossed, thumbs pressed together, and I'm saying my special prayer to the "Disney Gods" for you to pass ROFR!

Tom

:wizard: Pixie dust to you! :wizard: I remember how excited I was when I got my first contract. The waiting is hard, but it's really worth it. Hopefully we can say welcome home in a month!
