Please say a quick prayer for my mom...

I posted about her last week, how she went to the doctor and they found her blood pressure to be at 230/???. THey gave her some meds, and she went back today, and its still very high, this time 220/???. (Sorry I have no idea what they bottom number is.)

Please pray for her. The drs. are very worried, apparently this is the level at which people can have strokes and things. I'm not ready to lose her, I know my dad is not ready for that either. Thing is, she feels fine. But say a prayer for her, please.

Well, last night she was at the hospital for five hours, and they were able to get her pressure down to 154, which, compared to the 220, was much better. So they sent her home, and all is well for now. They also upped her medication.

It takes time to bring a high pressure down, sometimes. It's not an exact science because everyone reacts differently to different drugs. My Mom has been on the drug rotation for many years.

If your Mom doesn't have a pressure gauge at home, buy her one, or encourage her to get one so she can monitor it herself. She should also write down what it is at different times of the day. That should help her dr. decide what is up with the meds she's on.

Prayers are being sent your way. We just had a scare with my Mom's pressure a few weeks ago. Luckily, it was her pressure gauge that was old and broke. Now that she has a new one, she, her dr., and the rest of us are feeling better.
