This will be our First WDW vacation and we are now 30 days out. I booked my ADRs 180 days out which seems like forever ago and now of course I am over-analyzing everything. We are doing the DDP but I have used up all those credit's on previous ADRs and to be honest, the last part of our vacation is kind of play-it-by-ear. We will be paying OOP so I dont' want to go overboard, but do want to make our last night of vacation a nice night.
oh, and we are staying at the Poly

Sat - arrive late...going to DTD, eating OOP (maybe WPE)
Sun - Ohaha's Character B-fast - MK
Mon - Epcot - Chefs for Lunch; Ohana Dinner & Beach for fireworks
Tues - DHS - 1/2 day, Sci-Fi Lunch; Possibly MNSSHP that night
Wed - Open, down time?? AK??; California Grill for late dinner
Thur - Epcot 1/2 day then to DHS for Mama Melrose and F! show
Fri - AK if not on Wed; or open day...where to eat?? Possibly MNNSHP that night??
Sat - quick b-fast then off to the airport. Good bye Disney.

Thank you for your review and suggestions in advance. :)

I see you are doing Cali Grill earlier in your trip - we always end with that and watch the fireworks from the balcony there :lovestruc

Good idea, however MK is closing early that night due to MNSSHP. The only night there are Wishes are Monday and Wed of our trip. So for that reason, I was thinking the most probable places to spend our last night would be 1) Epcot, 2) DTD or 3) reschedule MNSSHP for our last night. oh, what to do....

Looks good....we always leave the last day with no resv..time consuming. We try and pack everything possible in! :lmao:
Our last trip we did the dessert party with fireworks on last evening...that was pretty magical!

Just a tip...we did 1/2 day at DHS with a 1pm resv for lunch at Sci-fi. We didn't get in until 2! Slow server meant we didn't get out of there until 330/4ish.

If your looking to do something for the kids, I'd do Chef Mickey's.

ETA - #1 - Your saying that you have to pay OOP for this meal - Not true. If you choose somewhere more expencive, you can choose to pay OOP earlier in your trip, and save a credit for this meal. #2 - If you are planning on going to a MNSSHP, you should think about buying the tickets soon. Not all of the dates sell out, but the ones closer to the actual holiday do, so you should start making those plans soon.

DisneySarah...looks like we will be their the same time!

Good point about the DDP credit. I guess it depends on if I make another reservation. Just checked and nothing is available for Chef Mickeys Fri 10/28. I guess I kind of blundered not making a reservation for a Fri. night.

Also, thanks for the advice on the MNSSHP. I need to buy tickets soon. That brings up another question. If I buy them and then decide we want to switch nights, can we do that after the fact?

Unless you plan on spending the final evening in a park (in which case you are going to ditch the TS anyhow and grab a CS meal because you're trying to do a specific attraction/show), then you are looking at a resort.

Option 1: Boma at AKL. Easiest/best fit if you have spent the day in AK. Take your time, explore the AKL; after dinner go back out to the viewing area to take a turn with the night vision goggles and/or storytime by the outdoor firepit (ask at the front desk).

Option 2: 1900PF at the GF. Cindy and her Prince are nice, but her Stepmother and Stepsisters are wonderful fun. Afterwards, go back to MK and transfer into the boat to Ft. Wilderness. Free campfire/marshmallow roast, sing-a-long, special appearance by Chip&Dale, and a Disney movie under the stars.

Option 3: Cape May at the BC/YC. Non-character but a good buffet, especially if you like seafood (although there are lots of basic/classic American choices too). Afterwards, take the boat across the lake. Stroll along the Boardwalk and enjoy the wandering entertainers.

If you aren't planning on going to another park that day then my suggestions would be Boma, since you'll be at AK that day, or places near the Poly, like Kona Cafe, GFC, WCC, 1900 PF, or The Wave.

Thanks Quin...LOVE your suggestions. Going to check out all those options!

Are the AK restaurants open later? I believe AK closes at 5:00 that day.

AKL is the resort closest to AK, but it is not in the park. The restaurants in AK are Tusker House, Yak&Yeti TS, and a Rainforest Cafe. The restaurants in AKL are Boma (buffet, more unique African themed flavors although since a buffet it also has basic kid food like nuggets & cheese pizza, plus Zebra Domes on the dessert table), Sanaa (1 TS, I feel menu is more Indian flavors than African), and Jiko (2TS Signature). If AK closes at 5 pm then 5 pm is the last ADR time of the day for the restaurants in AK, because the busses will run for another hour or so. The AKL restaurants are all probably open until 10 pm or so, just like any other resort.

From AK you take a very short bus ride to AKL. After dinner take a bus from AKL to DTD or to any park that's still open and then transfer to a bus going back to your own resort.

For your breakfast the first day, don't forget about the time change. I made that mistake on our last trip. I booked CRT for 8 am thinking it would be a great way to start our trip off with a bang, but then I didn't think about the fact that 8 eastern time is 5 am pacific time. I had to get the kids up at what was for us equivalent to 4 am after a full day on a plane (we landed at 4 pm, but didn't get to the hotel until 8 pm, after picking up luggage making a grocery stop, and traffic). It was a mess. The kids were totally zonked and didn't enjoy breakfast at all.

Good reminder.
We are doing Ohana CB at 7:50 a.m. (I think the park opens at 9). We are coming from the midwest so we only have 1 hour difference...but yes, it will feel like 6:50ish when we go to b-fast. I am guessing we won't make rope drop but I think that's ok from the sounds of it as the crowd levels are suppose to be low.
