Hi. We will be arriving at WL June 6, after two nights in St. Augustine. DH, myself, and 2 DD's (5&7). My DD5 is a TOTAL princessprincess: ; DD7 is a little more laid back about the whole princess thing. Anyway, I've made some ps reservations that I would like those of you who have traveled with little girs to review and comment.

Sun - Hoop De Do
Mon - No ps
Tues - Sci Fi for lunch (DH is a big fan)
Wed - Cindys !!
Thurs - Storybook Breakfast, Ohana's for Dinner
Fri - Cape May breakfast

I am thinking about dinners but don't want to make ps' yet because I have promised my DD's that they can choose evening park & most dinners. I would like to mention and/or describe to them: Chef Mickey's, Garden Grill, Crystal Palace. Can I get ps' on short notice? Do I need them? Any other "Not to miss" with DD's restaurants?

I am pretty sure that 2 meals a day will be plenty with a snack.

Thanks for your help:wave2:

You will love the Garden Grill. Princesses are nice, but Mickey is just so important! LOL! I would get a PS tho as it can be busy at dinner time.

You might have a tough time getting into Chef Mickey's, Crystal Palace and possibly GG with no PS. I would hate for your little girl to pick a place and you can't get in. Why not include her in on the planning, even let her see pictures & menus online, and let her pick before going. Make a big deal out of getting PS and make a fun thing out of it. That way there won't be disappointments. Just a suggestion.

By the way, we arrive June 6th too! See ya 'round the world!:wave2:

I would go the way of PSs also. It can be tough to get a table spur of the moment at the character meals. That said last May we were able to get seated at 1900 Park Faire when we arrived just as they were opening for dinner after trying for PSs for more than a month. We also got Chef Mickey PSs about 1 week before our trip so if you don't get a PS on your first try don't give up. Not sure if the fact it was raining helped or not. I would try to plan it to avoid dissapointment as we did not tell the kids in our party what the plan was until after we were sure we could get seated. My niece who is six picked PSB and 1900 Park Faire as her choices for breakfast and dinner for our trip in August. She wanted to have dinner in the castle but when she heard there would be no characters she quickly changed her mind. This will be her 4th trip to WDW and we have hit one of the princess meals each time and she shows no signs of letting a trip go by without one. Have a great time. I am sure your daughters will love breakfast with the princesses. They are both terrific meals.

our favorite is CP. 14 yo dd has been enjoying Pooh and friends since she was 2, and still does. now 5 yo ds loves it. we really like the selections for both the adult and kids buffet.

Thanks to all of you:sunny: I am just blown away by the kindness on these boards!

If I get ps', what is the cancelation policy? If I have to call to cancel while at WL, will I get charged the HUGE phone fees? I did notice that 1900 Park Fare is a little higher price then some of the other character dinners. Is the food that much better, or is it the atmospher?

I've never stepped foot on GF property. Just viewed it from the boat. Maybe I should get my DD7 to check out pics and menus of that restaurant for ME:teeth:

I think you are right. I should have my dd's help in the planning and get ps'.

Thanks Again for all your help:wave:

You won't get charged any phone fees because there is a direct line for Disney Dining from your room. I also believe you can reach them at the parks on any payphone (free) by dialing *88 (will have to double check this).

I always make PS for the places I want to go to. Some of those you mentioned may be tough to get into without PS but you might be able to get on a few days before or that day and as some posters mentioned they have been able to get in by just walking up.

You should be able to get a GG PS within a day or so, but during busy times some of those restaurants have been known to not take walk-ups. This happened to us last year on Valentine's night in EPCOT, none of the WS restaurants were taking walk ups.

Always better to have PS than not to. Of course the only ones that have penalties for canceling are the ones you've made with a credit card. The others you mentioned don't require credit cards (except on major holidays sometimes).

ENJOY!!
